Spirit woke me very purposefully early one morning this week, at 3:38 am to be exact, with

some messages for today’s blog. They were very insistent, so I sat up in the dark and reached for my glasses, then my phone. Quietly typing the information into the “notes” section, I knew that if the light from my phone woke my husband, he would just patiently roll over and go back to sleep understanding that I was just having another nighttime download. After two or three pauses and a half hour later, I was able to go back to sleep for a few hours, but the information stayed with me. That night we talked about it in my community meeting. The topic was one of the predominant themes for this year of transformation – TRUST - trust in Spirit and believe/trust in yourself. As this year has begin to unfold with fast moving chaotic international political events, uncertain economies, changing relationships amongst family, friends, and even nations, and uncertainty for some about what is our best personal path forward, how is your trust in Spirit? Is it building and becoming increasingly unwavering or is it rapidly crumbling?
Microwave Moments
During those early morning messages, Spirit pointed out to me that “every day is an exercise in trust.” When we talked about that concept in our meeting that night, we agreed that we have several opportunities a day to listen to and trust what messages or signs we are getting from Spirit. Some of you may have heard me give the example of my speaking to Spirit so often that they now even tell me how long to cook something in the microwave and I laughingly acknowledge that when I haven’t listened, I have always regretted it! So based on my example, all of a sudden, in our conversation about how integrated communication with Spirit has become in our lives, we began to call examples of that day-to-day integration “microwave moments.”

Those “microwave moments” can feel small and almost escape being noticed if we don’t pay attention. For example, for me, that whispered “60 seconds” was initially easily ignored and overridden by the “90 seconds” that my logic insisted was the correct microwaving time. Other whispers that were easily ignored or only recalled in retrospect, were things like reminders to pay bills on time, suggestions to leave for an appointment earlier than I thought I needed to, or a feeling to reach out to someone at a specific time. The consequences of not paying attention to those whispers – overcooked food, late payment penalties, missing an appointment due to unexpected traffic, and missing the opportunity to support a friend who was going through a difficult time – taught me to listen more closely and not dismiss the messages Spirit was giving me. Others in the group agreed that they also had “microwave moments” in their lives but they were often dismissed or overlooked. What about you?
Spirit tells us that those small moments are there to help us build our trust in Spirit, so they suggested to “write it down.” You may want to journal about the incidents you experience or jot them down on a calendar. Some of the group members also expressed that being in the moment, focusing your attention on the present versus the past or future, helped identify those moments. As we start to recognize signs or messages from Spirit, more and more start to show up for us. Whether Spirit is presenting us with more communication or whether it was there all along and we were just recognizing it more, doesn’t matter. What matters is that the more we start working with Spirit in our every day lives, the more our trust grows.
As our group reflected on those small moments of communication with Spirit, we realized that most people spend a lot of time impatiently waiting for bigger, longer, and perhaps more dramatic or obvious episodes of communication with the Divine. Many are finding that no matter how hard they try, the result is “crickets”, “nada,” nothing. Have you ever spent hours or repeated attempts at meditation waiting for some mystical responses from the ethers? Does your ego’s chatter shatter any attempt at peaceful mindfulness or meditation? Have you taken courses on how to talk to your Guides and Angels or set up an alter or spiritual space in your home complete with crystals and sage, hoping that these strategies would help you to connect with Spirit? Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not criticizing these practices at all. I have my own personal way of reaching out as well, so I have no investment in judging one way or another. For some, these strategies do result in success while for others, they do not. So why are some people able to connect with Spirit on a daily basis while others struggle?
Spirit reassures me that they are communicating with us all the time. So… you may ask, where are they in your life?? They tell me that what makes a difference in receiving their messages is TRUST. We all have the innate ability to communicate with Spirit. However, no matter how hard or how often we try to communicate or what aids or language we use, if our trust is lacking, it is easy for the ego to run interference. We either have a total block to receiving anything from Spirit or doubt sets in and we don’t believe that what we are receiving is from Spirit. So, we are asked to trust those “microwave moments,” to be alert for the messages or signs – repeating numbers, animals catching your attention, random meaningful thoughts popping into your head, synchronicities of all kinds, and those whispered responses that come so quickly to a question you have not even finished formulating.
Where There Is Smoke, There Is Fire
As our trust grows, we see opportunities to interact with Spirit in all aspects of our lives. A more obvious example was when one group member had light bulbs in her home spontaneously blinking for several days around the anniversary of the death of a loved one. Personally, my microwave tips have expanded to include suggestions on how to help heal family members from physical challenges. But how do we “grow” that trust? Spirit gave me a phrase to apply to these situations “Where there is smoke, there is fire.” In other words, if it appears as if something is happening, it likely is. So, they are saying “don’t second guess yourself.” If a light bulb is blinking and your intuition is telling you that it is a sign from a loved one, trust that message is true. Don’t listen to the ego that is trying to tell you it is just a faulty light bulb. If you offer healing to a loved one and see an improvement, especially an unexpected or rapid one, trust that following Spirit’s guidance with offering that healing was effective. Don’t put it down to coincidence.

Sometimes, we turn a blind eye to the “smoke.” As one member of our group pointed out, we can receive messages from Spirit to look at an issue or address a challenge, but we push it away, avoid it or ignore the messages. Sometimes we are not ready to deal with the issue and so the fire grows until we can’t ignore it any longer. Spirit is telling us to pay attention to early signs or messages. One of the suggestions to help us pay attention to that fire earlier, is to see it as an opportunity rather than a challenge. An opportunity to learn and grow and gain more trust in Spirit.
Our trust may waiver as more long-buried trauma or challenges, those “bigger fires,” come to the surface or when what we are working on does not seem to be moving forward. When this happens, we are often facing a block that we may need to dig deeper into our past (this life or others) to find. Spirit is also asking us to trust that everything happens on Divine timing, so the block is appearing at the best time for us to clear it. They are asking us to surrender to the timing and listen to learn how to move forward.
Being Heart Centred

In our world today, it may feel difficult to pay attention to those “small fires” in our personal lives when it can feel like the whole world is on fire! One might look at global affairs and wonder how things can be so “bad,” so ridiculous. The present global chaos calls us to exercise huge trust in Source. We know that there has to be a reason for everything but often we just can’t see it. The world around us can overwhelm us with low vibrational emotions such as fear, depression, despair, frustration, anger, resentment, and hate IF we allow it. We can wallow in those feelings believing in the prevalence of pure evil or we can choose to have faith in humanity, to trust that Spirit is always acting for our highest good. As we address our own “small fires” and cultivate more “microwave moments” in our lives, the trust we gain in Spirit brings us a sense of peace, amidst the turmoil, a “knowing” that all is as Divine intended in our personal world. As we settle into that belief, that trust, our peaceful energy ripples outward to buoy up others. We can share our experiences helping others to recognize theirs and build their trust. Which path do you choose?
We all have the strength to move beyond those negative feelings. We are stronger than the negativity in the world around us and can deny the evil any power it might garner from our attention on it. But how? How do we “address our small fires and cultivate our microwave moments?” Spirit tells us to move into our heart where we can connect more directly

bypassing the interfering ego that lives in our mind. Relating to the world around us from the heart, we will feel as secure as a newborn lovingly cradled in a mother’s arms. We can TRUST that Spirit is clearly guiding us along the path that serves us best. We will have reassurance from Spirit in whatever form speaks to us, that we are safe, that Spirit has our back. Spirit’s messages are always loving and supportive and worthy of our trust. Some messages may be difficult to understand how they apply to our situation or request. In that case you can ask Spirit for clarity and trust that it will all make sense eventually. Can you recall examples of when you have paid attention, listened, and followed what you were receiving from Spirit and then things worked out in your best interest? OR are you having difficulty believing this? If so, take a moment to learn to bring your heart and brain into coherence and make a heartfelt request to Spirit for help in bolstering your trust. This can be done with a simple meditation. (Learn more about heart brain coherence through the HeartMath Institute) Know that you are loved as a child of the Divine and Spirit is working tirelessly to support you.
Global Trauma
Spirit also wants us to make note of how the global energy is affecting us. We are reminded to always start with our own lives because that is all that we are responsible for. But some people are hugely preoccupied by the global chaos. Our trust in Spirit may waiver as we witness injustices, and we may feel desperately that we have some type of role to play in addressing them. If this is your current experience, there may be something for you to learn from the situation. Spirit is asking you to trust your guides and angels to guide you. Detach from the situation by putting your emotions aside, remembering that everything happens for a reason. Once detached you can become the observer to find the lesson in it for you.
If learning from the situation does not resonate for you, you may be meant to offer healing. Spirit again askes us to trust in the Divine plan. Rather than beseeching Source to stop or reverse events, we are encouraged to send love and compassion to those who came to the planet to be part of those events, as harmful as they seem. When I or others I know have wanted to pray to end wars or climate catastrophes, I have been reassured by Spirit that the best way we can assist the situation is to send loving energy to support the process to play out in the best possible way for all involved, rather than a request of Spirit to stop it.
If you are not feeling any effect from global events, Spirit explains that you are not meant to because there is no role for you there. At this time, you are meant to sidestep any judgement from others, free yourself from any guilt, and “turn your eye inward.” This is your time to focus on your personal transformation. Spirit is asking you to trust in this direction. As you become more aligned with your true self your light will shine brighter supporting others.
Strength in Community

As our group readily shared our “microwave moments” as well as some more significant events, it occurred to us that we could do so because we felt we were in a space where others would accept, understand, and even validate our experiences. Not only was our trust in Spirt growing, but we also trusted each other. In this year of transformation, our learning along our spiritual path is accelerated. We are being provided with more and more opportunities to build that trust in Spirit and the support from a community of like-minded individuals helps us with that.
Community can remind us to not look back at our failures but rather to look at what we have learned and to look forward eagerly to the next learning opportunity. As we help each other recognize what benefits and joy Spirit is bringing to our lives, our trust in Spirit grows. As we elevate our trust and integrate more and more “microwave moments” into our lives, the “eye rolls” once directed towards us transform into curiosity. As we thrive in the safe space of a community, we can enhance the ripple effect of the trust in Spirit that we are cultivating. Do you have a community you can grow and thrive in?
To Wrap It Up…
As I transcribe these messages from Spirit and distribute them as best I can, I know they will reach those who are meant to read them. There will be some part that resonates, bolsters confidence, supports, validates, enhances understanding, and ultimately helps some move more into trusting Spirit. If while reading this someone comes to mind for you, there is a reason for that so please forward them the messages or start a conversation about them perhaps describing your own “microwave moments.” Whoever, these messages reach, and however they are interpreted, I trust that everything happens exactly as it should.
So, in summary, Spirit’s message was simple. TRUST. Pay attention to the world around you.

Be open to messages, or signs from Spirit in your everyday activities. Expand your trust beyond the “microwave moments.” Approach life in a heart centred manner. We are on our way to a beautiful world, and you have a part in creating it. Keep your heart open and trust. Allow the ripple effect of that feeling to take hold. Spirit wants you to remember that you are a Divine being and deserve answers to any question you pose so trust and you will receive one. Think of yourself as cradled in the arms of the Great Mother, the Divine Feminine. You are a Child of the Divine and are cradled in love. Allow the love in. Allow your light to shine brighter and truly believe Spirit when we are told, “Trust that all is well.”
Sending you love and light,
Marilyn
