It Takes a Village ...

This week one of the groups in my Self Discovery & Healing Community were discussing the individual spiritual growth of the members and how the support of the community had facilitated that growth. Listening to the conversation, Spirit suddenly whispered in my ear “it takes a village…” Instantly I was reminded of the proverb “it takes a village to raise a child”

which refers to the belief “that an entire community of people must provide for and interact positively with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment.” (Source: Wikipedia – It takes a village.) Looking further at that concept, it made sense to me that everyone needed a village to thrive and grow no matter who they are. It seemed simple enough, but the whisper has continued all week. There is more that Spirit wants to share with you…

Your Earthly Village

Spirit showed me this week that there are different kinds of “villages.” The first is the most familiar to all of us. The village being a community of people that support us as individuals. It consists of family, friends, colleagues, strangers, groups of like-minded individuals and lightworkers that interact with us positively, sharing knowledge, values and beliefs, and mutual respect and acceptance. These people are part of our environment at home, work, or in the community that feels safe where we can express ourselves honestly, find help and support when working through challenges, and feel loved. Recently I had the beautiful opportunity to participate in a quantum consciousness workshop with a small group of people from all over the world who were total strangers to me (except for one person). All I could assume, if one should ever make assumptions, was that because of the topic of the workshop, we likely shared a common language and some values or beliefs. Of all the workshops and courses that I sign up for and then rarely get to completing, I knew this one was non-negotiable. I was attending and completing it. Spirit had brought it to me as an opportunity to grow and my hesitation about my worthiness to attend was not enough to stop me. At the end of the day, I knew why I had to be there. The wisdom, the expansion of my own light, and the connectedness has remained with me. I had found more members of my village.

We need our village at all ages and stages of life. Some of us need fewer members in our village than others but we are all connected and that Divine heart centred connection of the spark within us supports us energetically. Being able to speak our truth, discuss thoughts and beliefs with others who “speak our language” helps us to learn and grow. Exploring and sharing our gifts with others helps us understand our purpose, align with it and fulfill it. Our circle is a beautiful place to receive validation, encouragement, and even mentoring in opening up our spiritual gifts. Does this sound like a description of your “village?” Who do you connect with? Who can you count on to understand you and unconditionally love you? Spirit would like you to take a moment and list these people then send gratitude to each one of them from your heart. That will buoy you up and keep your village strong.

When we think about “it takes a village to raise a child” what often comes to mind is responsibility. The members of the village are responsible for nurturing the child. On a physical level that is true. For example, a young child cannot usually purchase or prepare their own food. They are dependent on the adult(s) responsible for providing for them. However, on a soul level all humans, even children, are solely responsible for themselves. On a soul level, the child has free will whether to eat that food, whether to tell their body that the food will sustain health, etc. As adults, in the physical world and at a soul level we are only responsible for ourselves. We have free will and can chose how to interact with our village and what impact it will have on us.

When we consider the village, we must also include our physical environment. Part of the safe

spaces we need to find respite in when addressing the challenges in our growth are those that provide actual physical shelter, food, water, etc. – all the things we need to satisfy our basic needs. The vegetation provides food, healing, and keeps the air we breathe clean. Gaia’s creatures are also a source of food and clothing. For most of us, we need those basic needs met to rid ourselves of the distraction unmet needs generate. When we are less distracted, we can focus on the moment and the next steps to take on our spiritual path. Sometimes, however, the challenge in our growth comes from the environment itself. For example, if we have life lessons in lack, the absence of adequate shelter or food may be the driving force to work through that lesson. Also, all of nature’s creatures and vegetation bring us signs and messages from Spirit.

The elements in our physical environment also contribute to the support of the village. Many, if not all of us, are connected to one or several of the elements – earth (soil, rocks/minerals/crystals, wood), wind/air, fire, water. Mother Earth and her elements help us in so many ways. She helps us to ground. Her crystals provide healing. Fire helps with clearing – how often have your written down things you want to release and then burned the paper? Water and air bring us messages and healing in their Divine energy. We are energetically connected to Mother Earth. She is waking up and the powerful energy coursing

through her ley lines and many portals contribute to the energy you are feeling. As her energy shifts as it has been doing so dramatically lately, we feel those shifts in our energy, even down to the cellular level. This might create physical sensations, or we might just feel “different” somehow. Does that sound familiar? When you think of your village, Spirit wants to remind you to include Mother Earth. She has so much to offer you. Her nurturing strength and power will sustain you in times of need. Spirit suggests that you take a few quiet moments and send love and gratitude to Mother Earth for all that she provides for you. Allow her to help you ground and find the stability you might need to move forward. Connect with the Earth’s waters and find the love and compassion that is coming in with the Divine Feminine through her waters. Infuse your love, grace, and gratitude into the water that you drink and allow it to fill your body with the high vibration of those words.

Your Expanded Cosmic Village

Believe it or not, your village expands into the cosmos. There are so many light beings beyond this planet and this dimension that are supporting you already and/or are waiting to do so. Many of you have met or feel your Guides, Angels, Ascended Masters or passed loved ones. Whether you connect with them deliberately through meditation, journalling, walks in the woods, hypnosis, or just simple conversation or whether you feel that there is a block to your connection, they are there in love, supporting you. We all have our own unique spiritual team with some members who are with us steadfastly throughout our many lifetimes, like our Guardian Angels, and many more members that come and go based on our needs and requests – Archangels, Spirit Guides, etc. Some you may even know by name and interact with on a regular basis. Others may pop in and out unnoticed. All of them including God/the Creator/Source/the Universe support you with the deepest unconditional love and are always acting in your best interest. They are ready and waiting to take action with a simple request or command from you. I connect with my spiritual team daily and their unconditional love makes me weak at the knees and often cry with overwhelm at such an intense embrace. They give me the resolve to move forward and the belief in my heart that we are moving towards a beautiful future. They give me the strength to help others and the wisdom to share. They provide me with guidance throughout the day and often lighten the load with their humour. What about you? Who is on your spiritual team? What does your intuition tell you about them? How are they supporting and guiding you?

As with many people, recently my cosmic village has come to include light beings from other

planets, galaxies, or star systems. I am just getting to know them so I can’t give you much detail. Perhaps they too have been with me for lifetimes, and I am only getting to become aware of them now. It will be interesting to find out more. They have told me that they are here for “peace” so perhaps to support me in my daily sending of energy for peace to the planet. Other people I know have connected with “their species of origin” where their ancestral line may have come from groups like the Pleiadeans or Andromedins. This may sound a bit weird or unbelievable to some of you but consider this: In the vastness of the Universe, do you really think we are the only living species? If you believe as I do that we all come from Source, why would Source stop at populating just one planet? AND if we all come from Source, then we are all connected in the light so wouldn’t it make sense to support each other?

Other mystical light beings that some of us are getting to know and are working with are dragons, fairies, unicorns, mermaids, etc. Some are familiar from ancient cultures and some we recognize from other lives in other dimensions. They are here to support us as well. Many of you know from my blog that I met my dragon over a year ago and since then my dragon family has grown to include many more. They are helping me in my work to bring peaceful energy to the world. I know others who work with the fairies and of course, one of my grand daughters interacts with her fairies all the time! Who are your mystical companions in your village?

We not only have other cosmic light beings as part of our village, the planets, suns, moons, stars and beyond are also part of our village. The moon’s energy not only affects the tides/water on the Earth, it also affects our bodies which are 70% water. The sun’s solar flares dramatically impact the Earth’s energy as well as our own. This year especially we have experienced unprecedented planetary alignments, all of which have affected the energy on Earth and have had some impact on our spiritual journey. When we look up at the night sky, some of us feel a pull to go beyond or a yearning to “go home.” Our cosmic village is calling to us. Do you feel a pull to a planet or star for a sense of belonging to a place other than Earth, to your cosmic village?

The Village Within

Our last village is the most important. It is what Spirit is calling “the village within.” This is where you will find the true you and all the perspectives/versions of yourself. This is where you are holding the energy of past lives or existences in other dimensions. This is where you hold your light, your spark from Source. When you pause in stillness and go within, perhaps

into your heart space, go deep within yourself, you will find this last village. Connecting with your true self, with your soul, is where you will find the most support to learn and grow. This village will prepare you for exploring your expanded village into the physical world and beyond into the cosmos. But first you must “start at home.” Start by truly knowing your home, your higher self, get to know every nook and cranny of your “house” in that village. Give yourself time in each day to connect to that inner self. It might be quietly meditating, or it might be a creative activity such as painting or writing, or it may be simply spending time in nature. Whatever you choose to do with that time, set the intention that the focus will be you. It will be to explore who you are, your light, your beautiful gifts, and your connection to your village. Your earthly village may support this activity perhaps as you hold a crystal and you may hear whispers from your cosmic village guiding you, but the focus is connecting with you, your village within.

As I was writing this, Archangel Michael prompted me to pull a card for you from his deck “The Sword of Light Oracle.” Apparently, he had something to add! After a through shuffle, I couldn’t believe the card that was pulled. It was the same card Spirit had me write about in last week’s blog – “Angel Messages - Open Up to Your Spiritual Gifts” with the message: “Remember that your true nature is spiritual, not physical. The angels are sending you messages to guide your soul’s growth.” He too, wants to emphasize that we focus on the “village within.” He is encouraging us to remember who we are as spiritual beings and to explore our spiritual gifts. We all have them as varied as we are. He is reassuring us that our cosmic village is supporting us when we are ready to listen to the guidance found there. What spiritual gifts are you allowing to open? Who is guiding you?

Expanding Your Village

Now is the time to expand your village. This year of transformation is truly the time for us to expand our spiritual self, our light. It is a time to grow beyond where we are, into the spiritual beings we are. It is time to come home, to remember with joy all that we can be. So, Spirit is

encouraging you to listen and trust the nudges from the members of your villages, to explore your inner, cosmic and earthly villages. They want you to remember that even in the darkest times of feeling fear and isolation, that you are not alone and that your village is waiting to support you in shedding that fear and moving into love and joy.  We are all connected in the sea of cosmic consciousness and beyond. Allow yourself to expand into the brightest and most beautiful light that you are. As we do that, we are supporting others to do the same. Know that this light is already shining through the cracks in the parts of life on this planet that the global chaos is seeing crumble. Through that darkness our light is shining. So, I ask you, “What does it take to make that light even brighter?” You know the answer. It takes a village.
