Turning Point

So… how has this month been going for you so far? Astrologers have predicted it to not only

be a month where we experience massive global changes but also a time of personal change. It is a time where we may experience a turning point. As we approach that turning point the changes we go through can be quite tumultuous. Speaking to friends, members of our Soul Messages community, and other spiritual practitioners, I found that many of us are experiencing sudden and surprisingly intense emotions – anger, grief, sadness, and even overwhelming love. In addition to dealing with those emotions, people are also experiencing more of their psychic gifts, more connection to the “other side,” more synchronicities. Consequently, this month has been a rough ride for some and for others an exciting one. What about you? Are you experiencing rounds of surprising emotions and enhanced spiritual insights? Does it all leave you wondering “what’s next?” Spirit has a few answers for us…

Emotional Upheaval – Recognizing What Is Asking for Attention

This week in our Soul Messages Self Discovery & Healing Community meeting, we discovered that everyone on the call was experiencing some problematic encounter with water – flooding on their property, a broken water tank in their home, being totally upended by a rogue wave while walking on a beach, and even needing to adjust to unusually high humidity. Water symbolizes emotion so we began to look at what emotions we had been experiencing and needing to pay attention to. Anger, frustration, sadness, guilt, and grief came up in that conversation as well as with others this month. Some of the emotions seemed to come up “out of the blue” or were triggered by something or someone that had not previously had that effect. Have you been experiencing any of these emotions?

So, what were these “negative emotions” all about? Spirit is saying that what is coming up for people so intensely, are emotions that have been “long buried” or point to something in our journey that we have “buried deep” and have not yet worked through. They are a sign of something deeper that is coming up for us to reconcile. True to the astrologers’ predictions for this month, it is a time of recognition and as our card for this month reminded us, it is a time for self study. Some of our group reflected on their situations and saw that perhaps their circumstances were meant to slow them down to do some self care. Some of the slow down for others was to work through a lesson in patience. Yet for others, the emotions were bringing an opportunity to work through past events that they were also tied to. But the question was why such intense emotions?

This month, an intense emotion brought my attention to an old pattern that I needed to look at… again! Lately when I have been calmly going about my day, I would suddenly get triggered into anger when I received an email from the person who manages the venue where we will be holding a family event this summer. Based on my interpretation of the language in the email, the person’s past behaviour, and a feeling of negative energy when I met them face to face, I made certain assumptions about their intent which angered me because they felt manipulative and unfair. My first reaction was to respond to that anger by jumping into action to “take control of the situation.” But that old pattern did not feel comfortable anymore. I recognized the pattern where I thought I had worked through needing to feel in control of a situation and others so all would work out well and others would see me as valuable – part of my journey in building self worth. In recognition of that insight, I tried to soften my response and feel some compassion for the person. Are your emotions bringing up any old patterns for you? Give yourself some time to reflect and journal on experiences that might highlight those patterns. Ask your angels and guides to help you remember and how to take baby steps towards changing the pattern.

Well, my response to the old pattern didn’t work. I see now that my goal was still for all to

work out “well” as I saw it. Little wonder then that the next email triggered me just as much. Stepping back, I was disappointed. There was something else I needed to look at. I want to be a loving compassionate person so why was I still so angry with this person? It took a lot of self control to be diplomatic and assertive yet calm in my responses. What was I missing? Then with more self reflection, another answer came. Another life lesson I thought I had worked through popped in again – judgement. Spirit was giving me an opportunity to let go of judgement...again! I was judging that person and attributing the same characteristics to them that I was trying to release! I judged them as being controlling! I had to shake my head at myself when Spirit reminded me that a few years ago, during a time in my life when I felt terribly judged, I made a conscious effort to work on releasing judgement of others but here I had fallen back into that behaviour. I always try to fully embrace that we never know anyone’s full story so we can’t make assumptions and judge them about why they make certain comments or behave in a certain way. This person was in my life at this time to help me remember and really finally integrate this perspective. Once I did this, I truly could feel the compassion for the person I was communicating with. I felt lighter and freer. It was easier to respond with true compassion and I felt more aligned. A shadow over the event has lifted and I am able to once again “just know” that the family event will be amazing. How about you? Are some life lessons you thought you were through circling back for a deeper dive? Take a moment to reflect on an emotion you are experiencing. Does the situation bring to mind any similar experiences?

We know that our emotions are a response to our thoughts which are formed based on our beliefs. Spirit is saying that the emotions, especially the intense or reoccurring ones, are asking us to examine our thoughts and the beliefs that they are based on. Do they still feel aligned with who you are? Or is it time to release or change a belief that no longer serves you? We have talked about how most of our core beliefs are formed when we are children and are based on the beliefs of the adults in our lives. They are not even our own but somehow, we adopt them usually out of a need to feel safe, secure, or loved as a child. In my example above, I needed to “be in control” because of a core belief that if I wasn’t then “bad things would happen.” One of those bad things was that no one would love me because I did not control a situation for a “good” outcome for everyone involved.

However, as I write this, Spirit has taken me deeper whispering one word, “Safe.”

Questioning that, I suddenly understood that I fall into judgement of certain behaviours based on scary early childhood experiences which I currently have no clear recollection of. That fear of certain behaviours or “bad things that would happen” kept me safe by avoiding those behaviours or fighting back. I learned to judge certain behaviours of others to keep myself safe and subconsciously that is what I am doing as an adult. I will have to sit with this new revelation, revisiting my inner child to let her know she is safe, to let her know that she is loved by the Divine and to TRUST that everything happens for our highest good. Thank you for staying with me so far as this came through for me! Are you feeling pulled by something similar? Do you have any troublesome beliefs that have been keeping you safe? Reflect on the work that you have done and the spiritual growth you have achieved so far. Do you feel free and calm or is there still something that feels slightly out of alignment with who you are becoming? Is it time to take a look at your beliefs?

As I have worked with some clients lately, I also see that as Empaths, some of us are feeling the emotions of the collective consciousness. The global turmoil, conflict, and uncertainty is creating fear and its subsequent reactions such as anger, hate, depression, and despair. As our spiritual gifts expand and our ability to “tune into” others, whether consciously or not, we need to learn discernment. The first step is to ask Spirit, “is this feeling mine?” I know you have heard this before but if you are like me there may be times that you forget to ask and then assuming what you are feeling is yours, jump into action to remedy the feeling but then are confused when it doesn’t work. If you find yourself in that situation, back up and ask, “Is it mine?” Trust the first response you see, hear or feel. Don’t second guess, which I know is hard to do. Once you know the feeling is not yours you can do what Empaths are meant to do. Fill yourself with love from the Divine and release it to Mother Earth to take it to whoever needs that love for healing. Trust in your beautiful gift to do this and trust that Mother Earth will take that loving energy to where it needs to go. Once you do, the unsettling feelings will dissipate. So, are you remembering to ask whether what you are feeling is even yours? Do you follow through with any action when you know they are not yours? How is that working for you?

The other thing I am seeing this month in my one-to-one sessions is that many people are feeling emotions carried forward from a past life. As painful, upsetting, or confusing that might be, it is a good thing. Spirit is saying now is the time to come full circle. Now is the time to finally heal the root cause of these traumatic emotions so you no longer carry them further into this life or the next. Sometimes, too, I have found that a person may be carrying emotions based on past trauma to the ancestral lineage. That emotion is coming up now for them again, to find the root trauma and heal the ancestral line. Do you see patterns in your family lineage that could be related to the emotions you are feeling lately? Do you have a recollection of events from past lives that may be connected to these emotions you are currently experiencing? If these situations resonate for you, take time to connect with your higher self for a deeper understanding and guidance on how to heal. If you need assistance with exploring any of these causes of your unexpected emotional experiences lately, reach out to a spiritual practitioner who you trust.

Grateful for the Emotions

As concerning as the emotions, you are experiencing might be, it is a good thing they are

coming up to bring the need for deeper healing into your awareness. For most of us, this may seem counterintuitive because we learned early in life that these were undesirable social behaviours or expressions of self and that we should avoid demonstrating them. Think about it. How many times is an upset crying child “shushed” in public? When a child is told “don’t let me ever hear you say that again” in response to their angry outburst what happens to that anger? It doesn’t magically go away. It gets buried deep. It festers and may give life to undesirable thoughts or behaviours. It may manifest as illness in the body or chronic emotional Illness. So, Spirit is saying that if these emotions are surfacing it is because it is time to examine their root and to heal.  They are a sign that we are ready and they are inviting us to heal, to move forward.

Spirit is also saying that it is time to do this work now because we need to “release then fill up.” Many of us currently have a role in helping others along their spiritual path or soon will be. We are essentially being told to get our own house in order so that we have the capacity to help others. We will find that our own experience will bring valuable learning we can pass onto others having similar challenges. So, whatever the challenging emotion you are working through now, you will reach a point sometime during the process when you can feel grateful for that emotion. It served as a “calling card to greater healing.”  You were/are ready to bring it out of hiding, face it, and heal. Remember though, it is still your choice whether you shine the light on that emotion and all it is bringing up or whether you rebury it for a while longer. You have free will. The choice is yours. Just know, that that emotion will come through again giving you another opportunity to look at it.

Get Grounded

Let’s go back for a minute to the experiences with water our group was having. The member who was churned about and then slammed into the beach by a rogue wave got the message loud and clear, “Get grounded.” Sometimes when we are so eager to move forward in our spiritual growth, we spend a lot of time in the ethers and forget our connection to our physical life. Spirit is reminding us that we are still in a physical world and need balance between the physical and spiritual. As much as we connect with our angels, guides, and members if our spiritual team, we should also be connecting to Mother Earth to get grounded. I know for myself, Spirit has shown me for quite a while that I am to act as a tether for others to feel safe in what is yet to come. Grounding helps provide the stability we need to move forward and/or to support others to do the same. For that I not only need to develop my unbridled trust in Spirit, but I also need to stay connected to Mother Earth. Over the years she has given me some brutal reminders to ground when I have had some nasty falls that included face plants!

Evolving Welcome Emotions

Some of you may not have experienced any challenging emotions this month and that is ok. That is simply not something that Spirit says you need to attend to at this time. I wonder though, if you have experienced an increase of overwhelming positive emotions. For years now, I have learned that a sudden overwhelming feeling of unconditional love that brings me to tears is a sign that my angels are very near and wanting to reassure me that they are there and are listening to me, loving me. Well, lately I have been having that same overwhelm that brings me to tears when I think of my family and open my heart to allow in all the beautiful love they give me. I thought I was already receiving their love, but this feeling is at a whole new level. The first time it really struck me intensely was a while ago at an acupuncture appointment. I look forward to the treatments because in addition to the energetic alignments, I benefit from the uninterrupted time to rest and meditate. During this particular visit as I started to relax in the dimly lit room, with soothing music playing and all fifty-five needles in place, I suddenly started to think about my son and the love he freely gives to me. My thoughts rapidly moved through each member of my family – my other children, my children’s partners, my grandchildren, and my husband – and all the times and ways they give their love to me. It was overwhelming in a beautiful way. The tears ran down my face and as a few suppressed sobs escaped, I allowed myself to fully feel what they have been giving me for their entire lives.

I have been asking Spirit to help me live from the heart and I truly feel this was a turning point

for me. My heart opened fully to receive. There was no more wall of unworthiness. Since that day I feel the love within my family more deeply and I am feeling more genuine deep compassion for others. Every chance I get, I am open to receiving that beautiful overwhelming love to “fill me up” so I, in turn, can pass it on. During this time of intense emotion have you had the opportunity to experience positive emotions more deeply – love, compassion, joy? Can you trust it is real and that you are worthy to receive? Can you keep your heart open and continue to receive, “filling you up?”

The Turning Point

As we work through these intense emotions releasing, healing, and becoming even more heart-centred, many of us are experiencing a major turning point in our lives or feel one coming. So many people in our community can feel a change coming but do not know what that change will be. That lack of knowing can create an emotional response of frustration, anxiety, or impatience perhaps rooted in fear of the unknown. BUT it can also create an excited anticipation or relief that something “good’ is coming rooted in the trust that everything is for our highest good and will come in the best Divine timing for us. We can choose how we feel about what is to come.

For many this turning point is also preceded by an opening and/or enhancement of their spiritual gifts. Intuition is sharpening. People are connecting to new members of their spiritual team. Some are receiving clarity about their cosmic roots. Past lives are remembered. Psychic gifts such as mediumship and energetic healing are opening and growing. Some are feeling a pull away from their current job to something involving the practical use of their spiritual gifts. We are remembering more rapidly who we truly are. We are becoming our authentic selves. Whatever your turning point, it is unique to you. Spirit is reassuring you that it will happen in the best timing and best way for you and that you will get clarity when the “time is right.” They are saying that “one thing is certain – change is coming.”

Until we reach that turning point, the best we can do is be present to what is happening in the

now. The planets have given us an alignment that offers time for recognition, reflection, and change. Tap into this energetic support. Acknowledge the feelings you are having. Be open to exploring the messages they are bringing. Embrace the challenges with gratitude for in the end they will serve you well. Something is coming. It may be a shift in your business, clarity about your purpose, or a move closer to your authentic self. Whatever it is, you are ready. You are supported and you can do it! So, let’s remember to reach out and support one another on this fantastic journey. This is an exciting time as we turn towards our new future.

Sending you love and light,

Marilyn
