Hope

Spirit wants to bring you a message of hope today. They have been whispering “Hope” in my

ree

ear for over a week now and today they confirmed that they want a message of hope conveyed to you. We have talked so much this year about release, challenges, and surrender that now as we come down the final stretch of this transformative year, Spirit wants to instill you with hope. We have all been working so hard often in deep, deep trenches of our own “stuff” we were dealing with, that it may have been difficult to keep our goal in sight. How many times this year has life just been “too hard” for you? How many times have you felt alone, fearful, and perhaps even abandoned by Spirit? How many times have you felt hopeless? Have you lost sight of the wonderful life you can and will build for yourself? If any of this sounds familiar, Spirit would like to bring hope back into your life. Let’s see what they have to say…

Acknowledge Your Growth

The first thing Spirit wants you to do is acknowledge the growth you have undergone this week, month, year and for many, even the past several years. Take a few quiet moments to “take inventory.” How have you changed and how has your life changed because you are becoming a different person? Let’s start with your beliefs. Have you discovered any entrenched core values and beliefs that were not serving you, that were stopping you from becoming who you want to be? Were they keeping you in fear? Have you recognized that they were acquired from other people when you were very young and that they really weren’t even yours? Can you think of any? If not, allow Spirit to answer that question for you. Sometimes the work we have done is so close to us, we do not even recognize our progress. Sit quietly and meditate or journal and just ask, “What beliefs have I released that no longer serve me?” You may hear some words, see a picture, or just get a knowing. Take your time and just allow the answer to come to you and trust what comes up.

For example, when I ask that question, I am flooded with memories and feelings of times when I did not say or do something for fear of being wrong or failing. Somewhere early on, I

ree

believed that I had to always be “right” or something bad would happen. Now I am still not clear on whether that stems from my childhood or a past life but I have found patterns of behaviour throughout my life where that fear resulted in me either shying away from something that could have brought myself and others joy, or when I did engage, the fear resulted in me trying to control every part of a situation and its outcome so “nothing bad would happen.” Through my journey this year, I am finding when I surrender to that higher power, listen to Spirit’s guidance, and believe that with the support of Spirit everything happens as Divine intended, the outcome is always in my best interest. Does any of that sound familiar for you? Are you able to see what you have released and how that has impacted your life?

How else have you grown? Have you recognized any patterns of thought or behaviour that keep reinforcing negative outcomes for you? Have you stopped doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different outcome and instead changed your behaviour? How has that worked out for you? One thing I have found to be very impactful for me is to monitor my thoughts and language. If a negative thought enters my mind or a negative phrase escapes from my mouth, I change those to something positive. When I do, I notice my mood instantly shifts to feeling lighter and happier. What behaviours or thoughts have you shifted?

As part of your spiritual growth what “gains” have you made? Do you have new spiritual practices that support you and guide you throughout your day? Have you developed a closer or clearer connection to Spirit? Do you believe in yourself more? Do you trust Spirit more? Are you manifesting more positive things in your life? Do you feel emotionally, spiritually, or physically healthier? Once you start to take inventory you will be surprised at how much you have gained. Spirit is reminding us that we are looking at “all things big and small” in our lives that have moved us forward. Once you see how far you have come, it is easier to embrace hope for the future.

“Hope Springs Eternal”

Today as I sat down to write this, Spirit gave me the phrase “Hope springs eternal.” These well-known words were coined by Alexander Pope in his Poem “An Essay on Man.” It is said that his statement illustrates human nature’s ability to believe there is a brighter future despite

ree

current circumstances. What better phrase to apply to life on our planet today? Despite world conflict and chaos, despite perhaps personal challenges, Spirit wants us to remember our innate ability to believe in and strive for a bright future. Despite all of our past and present challenges and because of our strength of spirit and resilience we are rapidly approaching that brilliant future. With this phrase Spirit wants us to remember and honour the truth of who we are. Spirit is encouraging us to reconnect to that very essence of our humanity to dream of a bright future and believe we will arrive at that future state. Spirit is asking us to override any negativity with the eternal optimism that we can and do hold for that bright future.

As we grow spiritually, some say that we are coming into a “remembering” of who we truly are. We are unique children of the Divine. We all come from the light of Source and a life of joy in fulfilling our purpose is our destiny, our future. We are all loved, and we are all worthy of that future. As we reconnect to our true self, our higher self, dropping the false beliefs that we have taken on, we will feel that love and believe in that worthiness. Spirit is asking us to find our inner strength and our confidence in who we are to reclaim that hope for the future.

Finding Hope

Some of us may say we have hope. For instance, when we have a bad day, we may say, “I hope tomorrow is better.” This is often an exercise of thought, however. True hope lies in our heart. I know, I know, you have already heard how important it is for us to live from our heart versus our head. Spirit is just giving us another reason for that. When we connect with our heart and hold hope there, it truly is “alive,” and its beautiful energy supports us.

To open our hearts to hope Spirit suggest we start with being present, taking our awareness away from the worry and regret of the past as well as the fear and anxiety about the future.

ree

We are asked to focus on each moment that we take a breath finding beauty, love, and gratitude in the smallest of things around us. Driving past a farmer’s field may trigger immense gratitude for their role in providing the food that is on our table each day. Feeling the sun’s warmth on your face can bring you peace and calm. Hearing a child’s laugh can open your heart to joy. Spirit reminds us that we have the freedom to choose how we will respond to the small miracles of life. We can choose to be blind to them, we can choose to have them represent something sad or fearful to us, or we can choose to perceive them as something to be grateful for, that brings us joy or brings us hope.

If we are still feeling hopeless Spirit wants us to know that our Angels, Guides, and Ascended Masters are standing by to help us rediscover that eternal optimism. All we need to do is ask. “Show me how to find hope.” “Help me open my heart to hope.” Once we ask, however, we need to take action, we need to be open to receiving the answers, the signs, the opportunities. We are also being reminded of the power of community. We are all connected energetically but the connection in our physical world is also so supportive for all of us. We are not meant to travel this journey alone. We need to do the work ourselves, but we are all entitled to a supportive cheering squad. So, allow yourself to be in the presence of those who have hope. Talk about how they bring in their optimism. Bask in their energy and allow it to open your heart to instill hope.

A Promise

Spirit wants us to know that Source brings us the promise of a bright future and it is within our

ree

grasp. We have worked hard to overcome challenges, we have learned many lessons, and we have grown in love and gratitude. We are all worthy of that bright future. No matter how hard our journey has been, no matter how troubling our world seems to be, we can choose to hold hope in our hearts. Together with the love we hold for ourselves and others, hope is a beacon of light piercing through even the darkest of times to illuminate that brilliant future. We are getting closer every day. We will get there together. Promise.

Sending you love and light,

Marilyn
