Last week I asked you to stay tuned for part 3 of “Lives Interrupted” so thank you for coming back and sharing in our family’s journey. We are slowly getting back on track, or rather, a new track in moving forward in life. There are still some challenges, but there are also daily beautiful reminders of the good things in life and all we have to be grateful for. And along the way, Spirit keeps speaking to us louder and more clearly each day. Here are more messages we have to share…
Message #1 – Forgiveness
As I alluded to in part 1, I felt I had failed my mother and my husband and as a result, felt I

contributed to their injury and illness. Perhaps if I had not called my mom at that particular time, she would not have fallen and become injured as she jumped up to answer the phone. Why had I missed early signs that my husband was not well? I discussed these two lines of thought when I talked about responsibility and judgement. I have sorted out that I am not responsible for the actual incidents but somehow still had felt that I perhaps did not do enough to prevent them. I know I was not responsible for changing their behaviour, but should I have changed mine? Knowing that my mom often napped in the afternoon, should I have delayed my call in case the call might waken her putting her at risk for a fall while answering the phone? Should I not have noticed the subtle change in my husband’s behaviour (like delaying repairs around the house which he is usually keen to do) and asked if he was not feeling well?
As I worked through these thoughts, I wanted to stay true to our determination to let go of the past, let go of regrets and judgement, and only look forward. In letting go of the past, I had to forgive myself for “not measuring up to my own expectations.” I had to remember that everything happens for a reason and perhaps this was to teach me to listen and pay more attention to my intuition. Forgiving myself needed to be deep, sincere and heartfelt. I had to release the guilt. For me, that happened in meditation when I released the guilt to Source and “saw” it leave my heart centre and flow up into the light. Then tears flowed as I felt the love and calm of forgiveness replace the guilt. Forgiving ourselves may look and feel different for each of us. The key is to let go that which we are blaming or judging ourselves for so we have room for the love to settle in with the forgiveness. Then the past is released so we can move forward.
For some reason, this interruption in our lives gave me the opportunity to look at forgiveness more deeply. As part of this journey around forgiveness, I also found I had things I was wrestling with that I needed to forgive my mom and my husband for. As with any relationship that lasts over decades, and even lifetimes, we have moments where we have purposely or inadvertently judged, disappointed, or hurt each other. As I watched my mom being so vulnerable, all of the occasions throughout my life where I had been hurt by her words, disappointed by her actions, or felt judged by her, came to the surface. I realized that those feelings were real at the time and I owned them, but I had also hidden them from her. Spirit helped me see that I could not possibly have known her true intent in all those situations especially if I hid the impact from her – did she truly intend to hurt, disappoint, or judge me? What I heard from Spirit was a reminder that she just didn’t know, that she was doing her best in her role as my mom. As we talked about in a previous newsletter “Self Love”, some people come into this world and just don’t know or can’t learn how to live their life any differently. That is a difficult thing to accept when someone has hurt you, especially if it is someone who you feel should love and protect you. However, you can’t truly forgive until you accept that they are trapped in their own reality.
I had heard this from Spirit before about my mom but had not taken it to heart. This time, I felt that I was given the gift of seeing her for who she truly is. I didn’t need to rehash long past events with her. I could forgive the past and open up my heart to her. As a result, I am doing things to support her in her healing because I want to, not out of guilt or obligation, but out of love. As an Empath, I am also able to feel her emotions more intensely now that the protective emotional barrier I had put between us is down. Do you have anyone in your life that you have been hurt by but are finding it hard to forgive? If you need assistance, Archangel Raguel can help with healing relationships including your relationship with yourself.

As my husband and I talked about how this interruption in our life has brought us closer, we reflected on bits of our relationship where we may have drifted apart over the years. We had chalked that up to largely being busy with the everyday demands of trying to balance “raising” four children with working long hours at demanding jobs. As we talked, Spirit also reminded me of a past life we had together where we had a major conflict that did not end well for me. I had worked through that past life a while back but never really discussed it with him. Now, during our conversation, I was able to not only tell him about that lifetime but also tell him directly that I had forgiven him. I could “see” and feel a better connection with him at the heart level. Going through that, added strength to our relationship now. Have you ever considered the impact of shared past lives on a current relationship? Archangel Raziel can assist with remembering and healing past lives. Is there something you have carried in your heart into this life that needs to be forgiven? Can you forgive so that you can reconnect with that person at the heart level?
Message #2 - Listen to the Body
As my husband continues his healing journey he is reconnecting with his body. This experience for him has helped him realize that he has been ignoring or even been disconnected from his body where his mind is not “hearing” the messages the body is sending it. On looking back on this recent illness and others, he realized he was able to deny that anything was wrong because he “felt good.” He experienced no pain, no change in any body sensations, and was able to continue his daily activities. Finally, when his body gave him such huge symptoms that he could not help but notice them, he ended up in hospital. As he went through his hospitalization, he was able to observe his body’s response to his illness and treatment but he did not feel much. Even early post operatively, he did not feel pain.
As he continues his healing at home, he is learning to tune into his body again. Not only is he observing the changes his body is going through, but he is feeling them. He is learning to listen to his body so that he can respond in a timely manner for the best possible outcome. He is also not allowing his body sensations to create fear. He is acknowledging the sensations, addressing what they require physically, and mentally and emotionally putting his attention on positive results. That is, he is not waiting for his body to scream at him that he is sick, as it did the night of his hospital admission, he is telling his body that it is healthy. What the mind and heart believe will manifest.
Tuning into Spirit is also helping my husband. On coming home from hospital, he started to

think about a tooth that has been “bothering him off and on” but causing “no real pain.” We discussed that it would be advantageous to have the tooth dealt with in order to support his healing. He agreed and said he would attend to it. He began to feel more from the tooth with the issue once he acknowledged it but did not yet make arrangements to see a dentist. A couple of nights later, he was awakened at 3:00 AM with a loud and very clear message from Spirit resounding in his head, “Get to the dentist!” The message got him fully awake and got his full attention because it was repeated loudly and clearly until he agreed to call that morning which he did. That night the messages from Spirit did not reoccur.
Then, Spirit worked to create Divine timing for him. The dentist had an appointment time available in two days. When he arrived, he met a new dentist who he told he wanted the tooth removed. Being very thorough, she told him she would have to do some testing before she could agree to extract the tooth. Although she had just met my husband, she was intuitive enough to acknowledge to him that she knew that it was of utmost importance to him that the tooth was extracted that day. Serendipitously, she had enough time available to do the required testing, the testing results supported the extraction, and the tooth was removed that day.
Many of us move through our lives not hearing the messages our body gives us. We often put ourselves and our body on hold as we deal with what we think are more pressing issues. The body persists in trying to get our attention, starting with small messages, then escalating with bigger, more serious symptoms until we pay attention. Once we listen to those messages, Spirit will help us find the strategies to deal with the issues the body is having. We just need to stop and listen. Some of what we need to do is change old belief patterns about illness and injury. For example, many believe that illness arises as revenge or “pay back” for committing “a wrong” in the past and that you need to suffer. What if the revenge was replaced with forgiveness? Others buy into society’s commonly held beliefs that certain illnesses have specific outcomes. If we change those strongly held beliefs that no longer serve us, we can change the outcome. Remember, emotion and thoughts based on beliefs create our reality.
I have had my own journey with messages from the body as some of you may have read in past newsletters. Ultimately the answers come, not only to heal the body, but to help us address some of the lessons we are here to learn. Do you listen to your body? How well do you honour this beautiful tool Source has given us for living in this world? Do you shut down messages from your body? What beliefs do you have about the body? Can you ask for assistance from Spirit to help you reconnect to your body? Archangel Raphael, the archangel of healing, can assist you with connecting to and healing the body.
Message # 3 - Spirit is Always Speaking to Us
Lastly, Spirit wants to remind us that they are always speaking to us. We just need to stop, look, listen, and feel. This interruption in our lives gave my husband and me the opportunity to do just that. Being together for long hours at the hospital, away from the busy distractions of everyday life, we had the opportunity to be silent, watch and listen, connect to Spirit, and talk with Spirit and to each other about it. We noticed more signs from Spirit.
The most obvious signs for me were from the animal world. For several days in a row, I noticed

two pairs of geese spending time on the hospital roof just below the window of my husband’s hospital room. The first thing that struck me was that they were in pairs which to me represented my husband and I as a couple. Two is also the number or partnership, cooperation, and teamwork, affirming how we were supporting each other in the detour our life took. Geese are also said to have a deep spiritual meaning and are associated with willpower, courage, and confidence – all of which we were experiencing throughout my husband’s health crisis. Geese also symbolize family devotion which is so wonderfully apparent in our family especially at our most trying times.
On drives home from the hospital I had many sightings of crows and magpies. They are often in my life, but reappearing during the time my husband was in hospital reaffirmed with me that this detour was designed to happen for our highest good and that he would be all right, You see, crows symbolize upheaval and personal transition emotionally and spiritually which is exactly what we were experiencing. We were “on path.” Crows remind us of the magic and mystery of creation, to be fearless, and see things from a higher perspective. This crisis had us changing our perspective to see the learnings and positives in it and to rid ourselves of any fear of a negative outcome. The magpie is also about opportunities, spiritual improvements, aligning with our true purpose, and finding the balance between mind, body, and soul. This was another reminder that we were on a spiritual journey as much as a physical and emotional one and that we would grow into our soul’s purpose.
Lastly, both birds symbolize communication. We not only learned through this experience to communicate more often and more clearly with each other but also developed a deeper communication with Spirit. Throughout the last several years, I have noticed animals that cross my path more and more and am continually amazed at the synchronous messages they bring to help me work through challenges. Do you notice animals, birds, insects bringing you messages from Spirit? What are they telling you?

In the quiet moments I had alone when my husband was off for diagnostic tests, or in surgery, or prior to going to bed after leaving him at the hospital, I had the opportunity to connect with Spirit for longer periods of time and more deeply. That connection gave birth to new gifts opening for me. My Spirit team became more visible and interactive as I learned new skills. I began to work with a new way of providing energetic healing that I am continuing to explore as it grows. I am having more vivid dreams that I remember that are providing messages from Spirit. I also seem to be connecting more with those who have passed over. In fact, one dream recently portrayed our house as “Grand Central Station.” Not only is our home very active with family coming and going, but my dream showed me it was also a cross roads for many souls as well. When I asked Spirit what my role was with regard to these souls, I was given a vague answer about helping them find their way and that more was to come. All of this is exciting and a bit confusing as I sort out how and when to use these new gifts in my journey of service to others. Are you receiving more signs from Spirit? Are you able to interpret the messages?
Last Words
As I mentioned in part two, we are not alone in our journey of lives interrupted. Every one of us faces a detour in our life at one time or another. Many of those have likely been in the last few years as the earth’s energy is shifting and it has especially accelerated the last few months. How big a detour we take, may depend on how far we have to come to get “back on track” with our soul’s purpose. The detour may be a small tweak or a complete about face. It may be with other people within your soul group or you may be experiencing it solo. It may last a day or several months. Whatever it is, it is meant to be and you have the amazing strength to get through it! Spirit never gives us more than we can handle. As a good friend of mine said “God doesn’t make mistakes.”
Spirit sent me a final reminder via text to share with you. The following text that I sent to my son on Nov 19, 2019 when he was facing some challenges playing hockey in Sweden, mysteriously reappeared in my texts again as if I sent it to him the day after my husband’s surgery – March 18, 2023. I have no clue how it got there. It just appeared that morning when I went to text him about somethings else. To me, it was obviously another message from Spirit for my family and so now to share with you. Here is the message:
“Over these weeks it is a time of change, letting go of what doesn’t serve you even though it might be comfortable and we might want to hang onto old ways and ideas. We are supposed to slow down to be open to new things that the Universe will make available to align with our purpose. Things will be crazy and unpredictable but all we have to do is slow down so we can pick up on what the Universe is offering and accept it - the Universe will do the work for us. It is a time to clarify what we want and it will manifest. So, meditate and/or journal and be open. Try to do things you enjoy.”
I’ll finish by suggesting to you to be still in the midst of chaos. See the opportunities in the

interruptions in our lives. Be grateful for the technology glitches that are not really failing us but giving us time to be silent and open to Spirit. “Count your blessings.” Pause to see the beauty around you in people, places, and the messengers in nature. As the crow reminds us, be open to the magic in the world. Know that Spirit is near, working tirelessly on our behalf to have a beautiful life unfold for us. Trust in Spirit and trust that you have inside of you what you are looking for on the outside – connect to your inner wisdom, your soul. As we have just wrapped up Easter week last weekend, it reminds us that this is a time of transformation – an ending that leads to new beginnings. I know our family has been through a transformation and look forward to the new beginning. What about you?
Lots of love and hugs,
Marilyn
