Blind Trust - Not the Financial Kind

When I asked Spirit today what we should write about, a single word started rolling around

in my head- TRUST. I started to question the topic, “Hadn’t I written many times in many blogs about trust in Spirit? How was today’s message to be different?” Their next response was, “Yes but the message needs to be heard again as people are starting to question their trust.” Then they emphasized that we need to talk about “blind trust.” Well, I thought I knew what they meant by that until I double checked the definition for you and all I could find was information on financial holdings! After a bit of back and forth the definition became clearer. In this dialogue, blind trust is like blind faith – a firm, unequivocable, unconditional, absolute belief in something even in the absence of tangible proof. So, based on that definition, how does your trust in Spirit measure up? Is it a pure “blind trust?”

Accelerated Challenges

How has your month of May been? Have you been experiencing rapid changes like many others? This was to be a month of positive changes and celebrating our successes; a month to be free to live in joy. Some of those changes were not so positive you say. Maybe that is where “blind trust” comes in – we just don’t quite see the positive outcome yet. Many people have been feeling the rapid and intense shifts in planetary energy this month which have impacted their bodies with extreme fatigue, sleep issues, and other physical symptoms. Frequent disruptive dreams or even nightmares are contributing to the fatigue. Others are feeling emotional shifts – some days are great and full of excitement and then the next can be depressive. Relationships are changing and many people are finding themselves spending more time alone – sometimes by choice and other times through loss. Some people are even making changes in their living arrangements and physical location of where they call home. With all of these changes our trust that they are in our best interest can be shaken.

Time for a Test of Trust

My personal experience this month has been mostly about body changes which included many bouts of unexplainable fatigue and recently other symptoms that my “nurse brain,” as I call it, started to categorize as symptoms of something potentially serious. The next thing I knew, my mind kept repeating that fearful diagnosis over and over again. I could feel worry start to come in to accompany the weird body sensations I was having. Running through a list of other possible symptoms in my head, the scenario didn’t fit with that repeated word in my thoughts. Despite that, I was defaulting to old belief patterns and fear. Finally, pushing those fearful thoughts away with a firm “no,” I stepped back and checked in with my body and one of my spirit guides who is a physician. There was a “block” on the same side as where I was having symptoms, but it was above my head in my energy field. We cleared that and as we were doing so, I knew with certainty that that would help. As the energy flow improved the symptoms resolved. When we were finished, he put his hands on my shoulders and reassuringly said, “See, you can do this. Now rest and drink water.” I followed through with the instructions, totally trusting the experience. Some of you may think my response was a bit odd or even irresponsible, but I truly believe in my heart that that was the right course of action. I fully trust the information and support I got from Spirit. It was another opportunity for me to build that “blind trust.”

As I review this experience I am reminded of other times in my life when I was called to trust in “a higher power.” I have always believed that “everything happens for a reason” even when we can’t see or understand that reason. Maybe that is another way to express “blind trust.” The first incident that I recall was when at age seventeen I was struck with a hook in my eye that eventually resulted in my losing most of the sight in that eye. I remember laying in hospital with both eyes patched waiting for surgery and my mother questioning why this had to happen to me. The thought that came to my mind immediately that I shared with her, was that perhaps spending time not being able to see would give me insight into some of my patients’ experiences in the future when I became a nurse.  I remember implicitly trusting that there was a purpose for what was happening. Many times, over my career, I just knew and trusted that my young patients would recover despite odds stacked against them. When family members had to have surgery for serious conditions, I totally trusted that they had the best medical care and that they would fully recover. It wasn’t just a trust in a surgeon because they were skilled. It was more than that. It was a knowing, placing total trust that my prayers would be answered and that the Universe /God/Source was going to ensure they fully recovered. When in your life have you had the opportunity to demonstrate total “blind trust?”

Looking Ahead

As I zoom back out from my personal life to look at the world around me, with the many, many challenges people are experiencing now, there are so many opportunities to develop “blind trust” in Spirit. In fact, that is one of the energetic themes for this year of transformation – developing our trust in Spirit. Those opportunities are aligned with our purpose and are always for our highest good even if that seems impossible to see in the moment. For me, most of my challenges have been regarding health and I feel that they are helping me develop the trust I need in my role as a healer. Others are developing trust in Spirit regarding financial security, physical safety, healthy relationships, and most importantly in who we are and aligning with our truth.

In the next few days we are transitioning to new month which, according to the cards Spirit had me pull at the beginning of the year (see Angel Messages for Each Month of 2025 – Part 1 Jan-June) will be a month for many of great sadness that will heal with time, of a final letting

go of the deeply buried past, of healing misunderstandings, and/or of supporting those who are in need. For some this may involve personal experiences, or it may be our response to global events. Whatever arises for you, it appears that it may be another opportunity to build that complete trust in Spirit. Whatever you run into – fear, pain, grief, worry – trust that all will proceed for your highest good. As you navigate the challenges let go of any preconceived outcome and trust that Spirit will present the best path forward for you. Be aware and in the moment. Be open to the signs that may come your way and to the intuitive thoughts and messages from your Spiritual team. Spirit wants you to believe/trust in your heart that you are fully supported.

As we are increasingly bombarded with the complexities of the world around us, it can be difficult to know who or what to trust. Spirit reminds you to first trust yourself. Go inward and connect with your strength, your intuition, your inner wisdom. Shed the beliefs and thoughts that no longer serve you. Issues may come up from as far back as past lives. They are coming up because it is time to review, understand, reconcile, forgive and release them and to trust that you are on the right path. Secondly trust others to assist you. Reach out to friends, family, professionals, your Spirit team for help. We are all connected. When we help one, we help many. We all benefit. Lastly, trust in the Divine and the plan you have constructed for yourself before coming to this lifetime. The plan with its soul contracts aligns with your purpose. It will help you grow.

Building Trust

When we give in to and get entrenched in old patterns of worry, anxiety, anger, and fear we can end up physically unwell. Our body will demonstrate symptoms in an effort to show us a way out so trust your body and listen to what it is trying to tell you. If you are experiencing fatigue perhaps you are to rest and recalibrate. If you are persistently nauseated perhaps your body is now needing a change in diet or there may be deeper issues to resolve that involve the solar plexus chakra energy and your personal power. Ask Spirit questions about the clues your body is giving you. Ask in prayer, meditation, or journaling. Trust that you will receive the answers you need.

When we sit in fear it starts to strangle us. It can make us immobile so that moving forward on our path is impossible. When we struggle, we often panic and grasp onto what we think is the solution, the best outcome. The more fearful we are, the tighter our grip. However, when we hold tightly to an outcome, we don’t leave any room for better options to come forward. So, Spirit is reassuring us that we can let go of the outcome of a situation. They always have the best one planned for us even if we cannot see it in the moment. We need to trust.

Sometimes we need to disconnect from the bombardment. Spending time alone and in nature will help you recentre and put the fear aside. Breathe in nature and see how it functions in total trust of the Universe. Feel the steady rhythm of water flowing, wind blowing, and the never-ending cycle of sunrises and sunsets. Every creature and plant are also in the flow of life. There is no fear, no second guessing. They flow freely in alignment with their purpose. As you sit in nature and ground, recapture that total trust that nature is showing you. Children also show us how to trust. They believe the kiss from their mother on a scratch will instantly make it feel better, and it does because they trust that process. Cultivating our trust can be that simple.

So, as you navigate this next month, consider your level of trust in Spirit. What is in your way of trusting? What beliefs and old programming can be released to clear your path? Be ready for the opportunities that will arise to deal with them. You will know that you are building trust because you will feel free - free from fear, worry, the ‘what if’s”, disappointment, guilt, anger. You will be able to move forward in your transformation and with each step you are coming closer to a beautiful new more enlightened you.

Last Words of Wisdom

Just as I was wrapping this up for you, Spirit came in with more clarification about why they insisted on the title being “blind trust.” They used the analogy of the meaning of blind trust in the financial world. According to Oxford Dictionary, a blind trust is “a financial arrangement in which a person in public office gives the administration of private business interests to an independent trust in order to prevent conflict of interest. Under the trust, the owner does not know how the assets are managed.” In other words, the person trusts the administrator unequivocally to manage their investments to the best outcome on their behalf. Likewise, Spirit is saying that “blind trust” in Spirit works the same way. When we hand over the reins to Spirit as the administrator we don’t cling to plans or outcomes of our own making. Instead, we allow them to guide us each step along the way as we navigate through challenges, trusting that we will take the best route for the best outcome for us, for our highest good. So, embrace that “blind trust” and step into the new future. Spirit is right there with you!

Sending you love and light,

Marilyn
