Angel Messages - Volva of Seidr

As our world churns with more chaos and as more of humanity’s darkness is being brought to light, Spirit suggested that we add to that light with a card today from one of my new decks,

the White Light Oracle by Alana Fairchild. This mystical deck was created as a pathway to the realm of the sacred, a place that brings deep love and light to your life, to the soul. We enter this realm through the heart. It is not surprising then, that this deck came forward today as we are in a year where the Divine Feminine is supporting us to move away from the ego and become more heart centred, and we are at a time currently where the world’s darkness needs the spiritual guidance and healing that the heart centred white light brings in. The author tells us that “when we connect with Spirit from the heart, we live in connection with the sacred and experience the deep beauty and spiritual mysteries of life.” She also informs us that white light holds the frequency of all colours as it enables healing for not only ourselves but the entire planet and all the creatures/beings on it. With the peace, beauty, grace, and light of healing comes an end to negative thoughts and behaviours replacing them with love, wisdom, joy, and a deeper connection to our purpose. Our card today leading us on that pathway to the love and extreme beauty of the soul is #30 Volva of Seidr.

My Messages:

Finding the Light

This enchanting card embodies the beauty and grace of the Divine Feminine. The figure’s face in the card’s image radiates serenity and calm as she appears to go inward connecting with her soul. Her hair encircles her head like a halo as if it was floating while she lay in a pool of

water. Water carries the Divine Feminine energy around the planet spreading love and compassion. Her hands rest on her chest at the level of the heart reminding us to move into our heart away from our mind and the ego, to feel the love and compassion of the Divine Feminine. The image shines with the Divine white light as if offering it to the reader to take into their heart, to accept the healing of that white light so that we too can radiate it to the world and those around us.

The Power to Heal

The card is titled “Volva of Seidr” which in Norse mythology, describes a seer or sorceress who practiced Seidr, a form of magic which is said to access different realms to predict and shape the future. As we go within to reconnect with our own higher Divine self, with our soul, we remember our power as co-creators of our own destiny. As we embrace the white light of Source our challenges, wounds, and darkness heal so that we can shine our light to help others. This card is reminding us of the power we have as Divine beings living in love and light from a heart centred place. Just as our last Angel Messages – Open Up to Your Spiritual Gifts encouraged us to return to our true selves and open up our gifts, this card is aligned with that message and shows us the way through the heart.

Support from the Numbers

This is card #30. The three in angel numbers is a reminder that our entire spiritual team – Angles, Guides, Ascended Masters, passed loved one, and other mystical beings – are ready and waiting to support us in our journey. They can assist us in calling in the white light of Source, in moving into our heart, and staying connected to our higher self. All we need to do is ask. The number three is also about communication and creativity. This number’s vibration supports our communication with our higher self and our spiritual tea. It also supports our creativity in creating our future where we can live in joy. The zero in angel numbers is a message from the Divine that you have come full circle. You are experiencing and ending which will bring about new beautiful beginnings that you can create.

Instead, work to bring positive influence to bear, so that you may contribute constructively toward shaping the outcome for the greatest good.

From the Norse traditions of Scandinavia comes the sorcery of seidr (say-der), the practice of cracking open and egg in order to read, and also shape, the future. The egg is a symbol of infinite Divine potential and the beginning of a new life. Seidr is a mysterious soothsaying or visionary practice, which also involves Shamanic healing, to divine an appropriate pathway through times of trouble and communal strife. Through prayer, chant and binding magic, as well as visionary practices in an altered state - all of which are supported by focused collective intention – a powerful healing takes place. The appearance of this oracle indicates that your soul talents, whatever they may be, can be of influence in the world. If you dedicate yourself to personal development for the greater good, you can contribute to the spiritual evolution of humanity.

Even if our intentions are pure, believing we know what should happen to whom, and when, is the working of the ego and not the soul. We may want the best for all beings, but we cannot know why their path is unfolding as it is or what their soul needs to learn. Seidr is a practice of shadows and spellcasting, binding and release, which could be used for higher purpose or personal gain. It dwells upon the borders of morality. The spiritual maturity of the practitioner will determine whether its efforts are for good or ill. This oracle advises us that good intentions are not enough to ensure the outcome of our efforts is beneficial. We need the wisdom that comes through surrendering into divine intelligence. With an awakened heart, it is possible to be a clear channel for spiritual light in this world, dedicating our soul talents to overcoming hate and divisiveness.

Traditionally, the practitioner of seidr was a spiritual leader known as ‘volva’ or ‘volur’ (‘soothsayer’ or ‘seer’), spa-kona (‘woman of prophecy’), or seio-kona (‘woman of magic’). She would not work alone but called upon community members to empower the practice. When we choose to align our actions with our heart truths, we become the spiritual birthmothers and founding fathers of a more spiritually advanced humanity. Tremendous creative power is generated when a group comes together in focused practice. If you seek to work with others, be aware of the positive potential and proceed with integrity and care.

The patron goddess of seidr is Freya, the Norse goddess with an insatiable appetite for pleasure, life, sensuality, the finer things, and unconditional freedom to be as she chooses. She is also a goddess of war. Hence, she is not afraid to enter into battle nor love. Her husband, Odin, is associated with prophecy, inspiration, and ecstasy. When he is away from her, she weeps red-gold tears. No stranger to suffering or ecstatic pleasure, Freya is the divine volva. She reminds humanity of both our innate spiritual power to embrace all of life and the inner spiritual resources we have to make it through any difficulty without compromising our hearts.

The art of seidr is one of collective dreaming and doing. It is the ability to move in darkness, to become wise to our own potential to become manipulative, controlling, and therefore negative – and to outsmart that by consciously choosing to bring love, freedom, spiritedness, and passion (the hallmarks of our presiding sorceress, Freya) into our lives. The message of this oracle is that you are able to bring a positive influence into whatever situations or circumstances that unfold in your life. Dedicate yourself to goodness. Believe in your power to effect positive change.”

Embrace the Light

If you are one of the many people who are currently struggling with huge challenges, this

card is reassuring you to “hold on”, you’ve got this! The zero in #30 is telling you that this harsh time is coming to an end and is making way for a new beginning. In coming “full circle” you need to release the old – its time is over – and embrace the new. The title of the card is telling you that you have the magic within you to create a life of joy moving forward into that new beginning. The number three is telling you that you are fully supported in moving into your heart and embracing the white light from Source that will provide healing for you and others. As with the card two weeks ago from Archangel Michael, this card is also asking you to use your “soul talents”, your gifts, to help the world.
