Angel Messages - Ride The Waves

As we approach the dawn of the Year of the Fire Horse, I found it interesting that today’s Angel Messages come from another element most often considered the opposite of fire, water. The Healing Waters Oracle deck created by Rebecca Campbell is offering a beautiful card that also aligns with the coming new moon. The deck’s author emphasizes how water is intrinsic to life. You may remember that she describes water as recording information which it then distributes as it circulates around the Earth. She describes water as being sacred as it plays an important role in many spiritual traditions and is connected to healing and transformation. Indeed, we recognize the energy of the Divine Feminine being held in water. So, as we enter this exciting new year, today’s card tells us how we can move forward. The card is Ride The Waves.
My Messages:
“Go With The Flow”
There has been much speculation and anticipation of the Year of the Fire Horse also occurring

during a “one universal” year. Both bring the energy of action/moving forward with speed and strength. They support independence and freedom. For some this strong energy may create anxiety or worry with thoughts of “What will happen? How will I be able to keep up? I hate change – how can I cope? What if I am not ready to take action?”
The Divine Feminine energy of the water brings us reassurance that “you will get through this.” Just like the figure in the card’s image, you can feel quietly confident in riding any huge wave of change. Despite the huge wave, the figure appears to hold herself with strength, confidence, and grace as she “rides the waves” keeping ahead of the looming wall behind her. Just like for a surfer, the loving, compassionate energy of water “will buoy you up”/support you as you move forward. We are reminded to not fear rapidly coming changes but rather to trust in the Universe offering us experiences that align with our highest good and that we can just “go with the flow.” You are still moving forward. You are still taking action.
Balance
The fire and water elements can balance one another, one not needing to triumph over the other. This year will be about maintaining our balance as we thread our way through the many changes and opportunities for spiritual growth presented to us, choosing what best aligns with our purpose. Just as waves ebb and flow, we are reassured that we will have times to rest, reflect inwardly, and listen to our intuition amid times when we are ready to charge forward embracing new experiences/new growth coming in to replace all that we shed last year.
These healing waters are working with the fire energy of the year. The card tells us that we will experience “life lessons and growth” which is definitely what this year promises to bring. Just as fire can “burn away” obstacle in our path, water can “wash away” those same obstacles. Both energies facilitate forward movement along our path.
Freedom

This year will also be about freedom – freedom to live as our true selves. The surfer in the card’s image embodies freedom. She is not being pulled in a specific direction by a boat. She is not weighted down by any equipment that would facilitate her survival underwater. She is free to surf the waves in any forward direction or to stop when she chooses. Having a clear goal to get to shore and trusting that she has the ability to “ride the waves” to her destination, she will succeed. So too will you succeed in moving forward during the changes this year with a clear goal in sight and belief in yourself. You have all that you need within you to “ride the waves” to learn the lessons that are presented and to surf to success.
Emotion
This year will also be about following our passion, living in joy. We are encouraged to live heart-centred, shedding negative thoughts and emotions such as fear, judgement, worry, and despair and replacing those with love, compassion, and joy. As we engage in what makes us “light up,” what gets us out of bed in the morning eager to get on with our day, we are pursuing our passion and finding the joy we are meant to have. Water symbolizes emotion. The huge waves of water on the card symbolize “big emotion.” You will notice that they are a brilliant turquoise with white crests that the surfer is riding on top of. They are symbols of positive emotions. There are no deep dark menacing waters threatening the surfer, pulling her down into negative emotions. With all of the fast changes coming this year and the energy of the “one year” supporting rapid manifestation, the water is reminding us to keep our thoughts positive and to feel the excitement and joy of what we want to create in our lives.
Renewal
Just as water cleanses and washes away what no longer needs to cling to us, the new moon

brings in the energy of the new, of what can fill the space of what was released or “washed away” previously. This month our upcoming new moon is coupled with a solar eclipse, a time of renewal. “Ride the waves” is telling us to trust and move smoothly into this time of newness, that we can move through this portal of spiritual growth. Just like the surfer, we have the confidence and strength to move through it.
Guidebook Messages:
“You’re most definitely living right now. And while you may be experiencing challenges in your life, they are shaping you into who you'll be someday soon. Just as strong winds that blow consistently over the ocean transfer energy to water to generate waves, the same happens when we feel the pressures of Life knocking at our door.
Life's pressures and challenges invite us to transform in the process: they can cause calm seas to gain momentum and waves to form. While at the time it can feel overwhelming, our true character is born through these usually unexpected changes that Life delivers.
Our experience shapes us. The most compassionate people in the world are the ones who know the real depths of life. The ones who have the capacity to understand us are those who have been through their own choppy waves. The ones who are able to hold us when we feel most out of our depth are those who have been through it themselves.
Be like the surfer and instead of reacting to the waves or seeing them as things to be avoided, choose to respond. And when possible, see if you can find a way to ride those waves all the way to the shore. There may be times when you fall off your board, but you'll meet fellow surfers who are riding their own waves back to themselves.
Soul Inquiry:
How can you respond to the waves of your life instead of reacting to them?
How can you let the transformation happened?”
I hope these messages are helpful for you. As you move forward this month, remember that you have a choice as to whether you charge forward or simply go with the flow. Either way, you will meet new experiences needed to grow and either way, you will succeed in learning the lessons presented.
I would love to hear your feedback about how this card’s messages have resonated with you. If you would like to receive some spiritual guidance specifically for you, I am offering intuitive counselling, angel card readings, and angel numerology readings online or in person (in Calgary).
