Are You Feeling The Shift?

Spring Equinox, the first day of the astrological calendar, takes us not only into Spring (in the northern hemisphere) but also into the season of Aries. What does this special time mean to you? Is it a day sorely defined by having an equal amount of sunlight and darkness or

simply the first day of Spring? Or does it have a more personal meaning for you? Is it the start of a time for “spring cleaning,” a time to plant seeds, a time to enjoy more sunlit days, a time for new beginnings? Many people I have been conversing with recently are commenting that they “feel a shift,” in themselves and in the collective energy and that they are preparing for “something coming.” Some have felt very “heavy energy” for the last few weeks, me included. But today something has definitely “shifted” both physically and energetically for me. I feel lighter and have more energy. What about you? Does today mark a change in how you will move forward this year? Let’s look at the shifts and what might be coming…

Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning of the home has deep cultural and religious roots dating back some three thousand years. Homes were cleaned to welcome in the new year and good luck. The warmer weather in northern climates was a practical time to for airing out homes after a cold winter kept stagnant air circulating. From a religious perspective spring cleaning symbolized a time of preparing for a fresh start. Personally, spring cleaning my home has never been a time-honored ritual. However, this year for the last few weeks and continuing today, I have had a very strong urge to clean and purge my home. As I have gone room by room cleaning and collecting items that no longer hold my interest, I can almost hear my house thanking me. This year, I also felt that our home needed an energetic clearing. Working with Archangel Michael room by room, the energy changed to feel lighter, less bogged down. Do you have a spring-cleaning ritual for your home? How does the energy feel in your home right now? Has it shifted?

Just as we spring clean our home, we can also offer ourselves a spiritual spring cleaning. The heavy energy that many have been feeling over the last several weeks has been part of a deep and final release of many things that no longer serve us. As I mentioned in a previous blog, working with my heart brought up grief from thirty-five years ago that I was finally able to release. Do you have old traumas that are waiting to be released? Are they from this lifetime, past lives, or your ancestral lineage? If you have been feeling weighed down recently perhaps those traumas are coming forward for you to release. Some of you may have also recently been clearing out old karmic debts. You may be firming up boundaries to honor yourself or enacting a clearer sense of responsibility. OR you may be shifting out from under the heavy negative energy of the collective. How does it feel to release what no longer serves you? For me, a release brings in a calmness and a resolution of physical symptoms that were pointing to what needed to be addressed. As I clear out shadows of what no longer serves me from my aura on a daily basis, my energy feels lighter and my motivation is enhanced. Have you done your spiritual spring cleaning yet?

Planting Seeds

Not only is Spring a time for planting seeds in our garden, but it is also time for planting

seeds in our mind and our hearts. Just as we plan our garden by choosing the seeds for vegetables and fruit that we know we will enjoy, we also need to choose what thoughts and feelings we want to plant to help us move forward on our path to joy. We are in a time of immense opportunity to create the reality we want to live in. Spirit is saying choose wisely. Take time for yourself to reflect on your goals. What do you want to grow in your spiritual garden? Honour yourself and not the wishes or demands of others. Ask your Guides, Angels, and the rest of your spiritual team to guide you. Try not to overanalyze your choices but rather pay attention to how you feel about your choices. This is the year of the Fire Horse so embrace your passion. Do your choices get you “fired up”/excite you? Do they make you feel joy? If so, then you are on the right path.

Enjoy the Sun – Be the Light

As Spring brings us more hours of sunlight, we see the sun’s warmth preparing the earth for the seeds that will be planted. As the days progress, that sunlight supports the seeds to grow and flourish. When we grow our spiritual seeds, Spirit wants to remind you that you are the light that nourishes that growth. You do not need an external source of light. You have the light within and that light is connected to every being on this planet and beyond including Source. So, you have an infinite amount of light supporting your spiritual growth. Spirit is also reminding you that it is important at this time to recognize that light and its far-reaching connections. It is important to remember that you are a Child of the Divine and in that memory believe in yourself and that you can achieve your goals. You can realize your dreams. You are capable of doing anything. Shine your light brightly. Be true to who you are and what you want to accomplish. As you shine in your authentic self so will you light the way for others.

New Beginnings

As your garden begins to grow you are witnessing new beginnings. A new crop springs forward creating a bounty for later this year. Your thoughts and feelings you plant now will also bloom into new beginnings, new perspectives, and new experiences. When you “plant your seeds” have a destination in mind (your goal) but do not worry about articulating a specific outcome. When we “let go of the outcome” Spirit can show us the outcome that is for our highest good. Some of those new beginnings may feel like false starts. Some may feel as if they are going in the wrong direction. Be patient. Just as we pluck the weeds from our garden, we can remove the barriers that the false starts and misdirections put in our way. However, it is wise to look at those barriers closely for the lessons they might bring or the rerouting to the best Divine timing they facilitate for us. They are beneficial for our new beginnings just as weeds in a garden can benefit it with enriching the soil and housing beneficial insects.

Watch It Grow - Shift into the Flow

The shift some of us have been feeling may well be from the energy of the Fire Horse shifting our momentum, bringing in opportunities for change, and supporting us to focus on our passion. When I first heard about the Fire Horse energy I must admit I was a bit worried. I thought it was going to have me running like a racehorse all year and I was not ready for that! As I learn more about it and remember that there are other energies working with it, like our personal numerology and astrology, I am more reassured that my momentum will be unique to me. Spirit has reminded me to “go with the flow” allowing things to occur in the best Divine timing versus trying to control timing and outcomes to what I think might be best.

Just as plants in our garden grow at different rates, we too have our unique timing. There will be times this year when we have to be patient and other times when we will be supported to respond rapidly to new opportunities that arise. As we stay present in the moment, we are more apt to “go with the flow.” Just like a river, sometimes that flow will speed up and sometimes it will slow down. Sometimes the waters will be calm and sometimes they will tumble over rapids. Being aware and in the moment, we will be able to respond to the speed of events not missing opportunities. We will also benefit from the calm times and be able to navigate the rough waters.

Spirit also reminded me that even though we are “going with the flow,” we still need to “steer our boat.” The freedom and independence of the Fire Horse support us in “steering our boat,” in making our own choices. We still need to point ourselves in the direction of our choice. We need to steer around, into, or out of barriers as we chose. We need to come to shore when we need to rest. Sometimes we may feel that our boat has been turned around and we are trying to paddle upstream. The river will keep flowing carrying us with it. We have just chosen to make the flow more difficult. We can also choose to make it easier by turning our boat around. So, in steering our boat the choices we make on our journey contribute to its ease or difficulty. Do you think it is your choices that are creating ‘the shift” that you are feeling? Are you going with the flow?

Feel the Shift

So, as you enter this beautiful next stage of your growth, remember your spiritual garden. Choose your seeds wisely, nurture it with your beautiful light, embrace the new beginnings and your own Divine timing, and be in the moment making the best choices for you as you flow forward and grow. Love and care for your garden from a heart-based perspective. Trust in Spirit to give you a little gardening advice. Then as you move through the year harvest time will bring you “a great bounty,” another wonderful shift closer to your authentic joyful self.

Sending you love and light,

Marilyn
