Just Be...

This may be a short message from Spirit today. As I drove home from my daughter’s after a

wonderful day looking after my youngest grandson, I asked Spirit about the topic for this blog, and I instantly heard “Just be…” This felt more like instruction on how to spend my evening rather than a topic to write about. As I asked for more information the simple instructions came in that I can share and then I am to take the time to “practice what I preach.”
Getting Back to Centre
As the energy this year has sped up and we have had a focus on moving forward quickly, Spirit wants us to remember that there are also times when we need to be still and “just be.” Spirit wants us to remember that we need to balance that action with some times of stillness, so we remain centred. As they said, “Sometimes no action is the best action.” So, if you have had some hectic months, weeks, or even days and feel like you cannot keep up the pace then don’t! That feeling is telling you to STOP! As many people I have spoken with recently, when they have not listened to those thoughts or feelings about slowing down or stopping, the Universe eventually makes it happen for them. Most of you know my biggest HALT! from the Universe was last summer when I broke my wrist. In our house whenever we do not listen to those first subtle messages from Spirit, we say that the last message from the Universe that finally makes us stop, is like being hit by “a cosmic two by four on the head!” So, before you get to that stage, listen and act on those messages to stop.
When you stop, take time to breathe and come back to centre. People accomplish that

recentering in different ways so listen to your intuition for what best serves you. It may be clearing your calendar and taking a day to focus on your needs by doing what brings you true joy. For some that is quiet time with a loved one. For others it may be indulging in a creative activity. It may be a day of self care – getting a massage, perhaps meditating or journaling. Your focus needs to shift from what others want of you to what you desire. Part of recentering is also to ground yourself. This can be done in meditation, prayer, or even time in nature. Take the time to reconnect with Mother Earth as well as your spiritual team. Once you are centred and grounded it is easier to “just be.”
Just Be
Once you have actually stopped your hectic pace of life and refocused on yourself, the next step is to engage in some time of complete stillness and “just be.” Choose a time when you can be alone uninterrupted. Ask anyone who might be sharing your space to respect your uninterrupted time alone. Choose a place that is comfortable for you and where you can eliminate distractions. Disconnect from technology. When you are comfortable close your eyes, relax and breathe deeply. Really feel the breath moving in and out of your body. Feel your muscles relax throughout your body. Once you are in that quiet state:
Focus more closely on your body. Feel the breath. Feel your heart beating gently. Notice any areas of discomfort and slowly release them. Just be with your body in that moment – breathing, heart beating, body relaxed, comfortable and safe.
Next, expand your focus to the environment around you and gently move through connecting with your senses:
What do you feel? Is the chair beneath you soft or hard? How does the ground feel beneath your feet? How do your clothes feel to your body? What do you feel with your hands in that moment? What is the temperature of the room or air around you?
What do you hear? Do you hear the furnace or air conditioning running? Are there creaks in your home? Do you hear a wind, or birds, or animals, or traffic in the distance?
What do you smell? Is the air fresh? Is there a fragrance from flowers nearby or from the last meal cooked? Do you still smell the fragrance of the soap from your shower or the laundry soap used on your clothes?
What do you taste? Can you still tase the remnants of your last meal or snack or is the taste of a mint or toothpaste lingering?
What do you see? Is there a lightness running across your closed eyelids? Open your eyes and take in every detail around you – colours, shapes, movement, lighting. Just notice what you see.
Once you have reconnected with your senses, close you eyes again and focus on the energy around you. Do you feel fluctuations or pockets of different pressures of temperature? Can you sense how far your field expands? What colour(s) is (are) in your field? Do you sense your Guardian Angles, guides, or anyone else from your spiritual team with you?
Now that your body, your senses, and your field have brought you to being in the present moment, return to just focusing on your breath. Close your eyes again. Allow thoughts to float in and out of your mind if they must. Release any emotion that might come in. Focus only on the breath and relax. Begin to fill your mind and heart with thoughts and feelings of love and gratitude. When we truly open up to these feelings it can sometimes be so amazing that it is overwhelming so if tears start to flow do not be alarmed.
Spend as long as is comfortable and “just be.”
Once we have done this exercise a few times, Spirit is encouraging us to consciously use elements of it to remain in the moment and “just be” as we move through our day. This takes us away from the external noise we are exposed to that gives rise to troublesome thoughts and emotions. As we move through our day being in the moment filled with love and gratitude, we not only benefit ourselves but also everyone we come in contact with.
Moving Forward
So, as we move through the busy days this year of taking action towards our spiritual goals,

Spirit is reminding us to balance that action with quiet moments of “just being.” As we are often so motivated to “do things”/take action to serve others, Spirit is also reassuring us that our mere presence on the planet helps others as well. Just by “being” in a state of love and gratitude we send ripples of that energy to others. I hope this is helpful so that you can avoid the “cosmic two by four” and come into balance by “just being.” I am off now to “practice what I preach!”
Sending you love and light,
Marilyn
