Angel Messages - The Father

As I pulled the card for this week I had to smile at the synchronicity of the subject. I am currently rereading Gregg Braden's book The Wisdom Codes and have just finished reading about the code that embodies meaning from the title of this card. This week’s card is The Father from the beautiful deck Luminous Messengers which was created and gifted to me by my daughter, Maggie Young. The title, image, and messages on the card gave me pause to reflect on the most relevant meaning of “father” to me today. What about you? Does it refer to a specific person, specific characteristics or actions, or a broader concept?
My Messages:
The Person
Most people’s initial interpretation of the title “The Father” may be the definition as a man's

position in a family in relation to his children. Biologically, we all have a father. However, the relationship with one's father may be as varied as there are unique individuals. For some, like me, this title may trigger fond memories of a loving father, giving us the opportunity to practice gratitude. For others, memories of a father may not be positive and may indeed be traumatic or absent altogether. Whatever memories are triggered by this card and its title, they are meant to come up now for us to review. Perhaps we are experiencing challenges and are needing to recall being loved, or perhaps we are being asked to release past traumas and practice forgiveness. What is your reaction to the father, the person that this card brings to mind? In these chaotic times, are you needing a reminder of how loved you are? Is Spirit saying now is the time to practice gratitude or forgiveness? As we know, we chose our families before we began this life. What lessons have you come to learn through your father?
Perhaps you are a father, and Spirit is asking you to take a closer look at your role. Is the role providing you with challenges as opportunities for growth? Or is the role one where you find your deepest joy? In either case, Spirit is saying “pat yourself on the back for the growth you have experienced so far and know this role will provide you with the opportunity to receive and give the greatest love.” Cherish the role as it is carrying you forward on your journey.
The Characteristics
The word “father” may bring to mind many characteristics such as a founder (example: “founding fathers” of a country), the head of the household or leader of the group (example: a priest being called “father” by the congregation), or being responsible for the care and protection of those the person is the father too. The word may also conjure up qualities of a father which could be as varied as the qualities of all people. What characteristics does the word bring forward in your mind? Do they illustrate something that you need to pay closer attention to? Are they part of a life lesson that you are currently working through?
The Broader Concept
When I initially looked at the card and the title, my thoughts went to the concept of “the father” being another name for God or Source. Perhaps this is because one of the wisdom codes that I am reading about is reflected in the prayer “The Our Father.” The words on the card “No journey is too arduous” and the image of a man standing behind a child, reminded me of the loving, benevolent support we constantly have as a child of the Divine. In the image the pair are on top of the mountain overlooking a valley reminding us that during the ups and downs of this turbulent year of transformation, we have the constant support of Source. Through our journey, “the father” is supporting us in the persistent theme of this year which is “release of the past” as the card states, towards “new beginnings.” The beautiful sun on the horizon in the card encourages us to know that we can get there, that we can achieve our goals.

The doves in the image are another sign of support from Source. They are symbols of peace, spirituality, hope, renewal, transformation, and love. What better sign to have during this year of transformation? They are also a reminder to renew and grow our connection to Spirit. Some may have found that with the changing energies on the planet, the way you connect with Spirit may have also changed. This card provides hope that “the father” is always there and that you are simply going through a change in connection to Spirit not a loss of that connection.
Both the colours and the numbers illustrated on this card point to support for our spiritual journey. The purple or violet border is the colour of the crown chakra through which we connect with Source. There are two figures in the image. Two in numerology is the number of partnerships. This card is reminding us to work in partnership with Source, “the father.” Two in angel numbers tells us not to give up and to reach out for help, in this case to reach out to “the father.” Two also tells us not to worry because the support from Source is there for us. There appears to be nine doves in the image. Nine carries the energy of selfless service to others. In angel numbers, nine is telling us to listen to our soul and pursue our life purpose. Its energy supports our spiritual calling of serving others.
This card also reminds us about “protection, safety, security.” Interestingly, according to the Wisdom Codes the prayer “The Our Father” is one to recite when in need of protection. Traditionally a father's role has been to protect the family keeping them safe and to provide for their security both physically and financially. As a child of the Divine, you are reminded that “the father” will also protect you, keeping you safe and secure. Some may find this difficult to believe feeling abandoned on a challenging journey. However, Spirit is reminding us now, that everything, including challenges, occur for our highest good. Spirit tells us that we are never abandoned and in fact we are so loved by the most doting “father.” Receiving that love and allowing it to fill our heart will buoy us up through any challenge. Spirit is encouraging us to allow the support of Source into our lives.
Lastly, sometimes when that journey gets too “arduous” we forget to reach out, to ask for the support that we know is there, and to gratefully receive it. If and when that happens for you, Spirit is suggesting that you pause, breathe, and envision that beautiful horizon that you are heading towards and will surely attain. Remember the dove who is bringing you peace and calm so that you can continue your journey.
Guidebook Messages:
Currently this deck does not have a guidebook. My daughter and I will be working together to create one in the future.
I hope this reading was meaningful for you. Know that we all have a loving, benevolent

“father” in Source/God/The Creator/etc. and that we are supported every moment on our journey. We are climbing huge mountains this year, and we will get to the peak where we can pause, look back on our successes, and see our beautiful future before us. I am right there with you!
I would love to hear your feedback about how this card’s message has resonated with you. If you find that you are wanting some assistance with connecting with “the father,” I am offering individual intuitive counselling, angel numerology, and angel card readings online or in person (in Calgary).
You might also consider joining our community of like-minded people sharing and supporting on their journey.
Sending love and light,
Marilyn
