The Angel Card drawn for today is from the Archangel Power Tarot Cards deck created by Radleigh Valentine. It is the Ten of the suit of Gabriel (or as I like to spell it, Gabrielle).
As a reminder, the Archangels are messengers of the Divine and work with humanity to provide love, guidance, healing, and support. Of the fifteen major Archangels, the author chose Archange Gabrielle to represent the first suit – the suit which reflects artistic ability, careers, and the desire to develop and grow.
Archangel Gabrielle is known as the “Strength of God.” As you may remember, the Archangels do not ascribe to a particular physical appearance or gender. They will appear differently to different people based on our perception and expectations of what they might look like. For some reason, Archange Gabrielle presents herself to me in the feminine with the feminine spelling of her name so I shall proceed with that in this newsletter despite the spelling on the card. Archangel Gabrielle is the Archangel of motivation (hence the title “Strength of God”), creativity, parenting, and communication. In the Bible, it is Archangel Gabrielle who announces the coming birth of John the Baptist to his father and of Jesus to his mother Mary.
My Messages:
On first glance, the Ten of Gabriel card appears to depict a “Cinderella scenario.” The
message of “Working too many hours. Trying too hard to please others,” definitely describes Cinderella! Does it describe you as well? Are you feeling overworked at this time? Do you feel stretched with the demands on your time? Do you put everyone else’s needs and desires ahead of your own? Do you often say “yes” when you would prefer to say “No” but can’t bring yourself to do that because you are a people pleaser? The woman appears to be a servant/worker holding a mop as a symbol of working too hard. She is unhappily contemplating venturing down some dark stairs. The room is also dark seeming to reflect her mood. Are you as unhappy as this Cinderella figure appears to be? Are you looking at a downward spiral rather than forward movement in your growth?
The woman stands with her back to the light in the corner which could light her way. She also seems oblivious to the angel in the room. Archangel Gabrielle is reminding us to look around and see what is being offered to assist us. Sometimes we are so focused on the task at hand that we do not hear or see the assistance being offered by other people, our environment, and Spirit. This card is telling us to stop working so hard and pause to see what assistance is available, to be present.
We also need to be open to receiving help. Many of us may be aware of the help available but are too proud, stubborn, afraid, to accept it. Or we may not feel worthy of the help. Many of us who are helpers and healers have life lessons in learning to receive or in recognizing and acknowledging ourselves as worthy. If this is you, Archangel Gabrielle is reminding you to “Ask your angels for helpful people to lighten your load.” Spirit is also telling me that this is not only a load of physical work such as a job, or work around the house, or helping friends move. This is also referring to a mental or emotional “load” where we take on and carry the problems of others until we feel we can “fix it” for them. Spirit is saying to ask for assistance with that “load” as well.
The tapestry in the background of the card bears angel wings and two trumpets, one of the symbols for Archangel Gabrielle, which is encouraging us to communicate our needs, our request for help. AND to also say “no” to taking on anymore when the load is already too heavy.
The card’s predominant colour is orange which is the colour of the sacral (second) chakra. This chakra represents emotions, creativity, and sexual energy. If the sacral chakra is blocked, a person may feel they have no control in life. (Source: A Beginner’s Guide to the 7 Chakras and How to Unblock Them) Orange also represents balance and perception. So, if we are working too hard life may feel like it is spinning out of control and that we lack work-life balance. Is this your life?
The card being number ten is also significant. Ten is comprised of the two numbers: one and zero. Angel number one tells us that we are in an opportune time to manifest. It is a time of new beginnings. The one also reminds us of when we are manifesting to keep positive thoughts and focus on what we want versus what we don’t want. Don’t be like the figure on the card – focused on the dark downward path versus the light. Which way is your path headed? Zero in angel numbers represents Source and an ending that allows a new beginning. Spirit is telling us to stay positive to manifest a new beginning, and that we are connected to Divine Source so we may ask for help. Are you ready to ask the angels for help to manifest a new beginning? To move away from the overwork? To have some balance in your life?
Guidebook Messages:
“It’s important to have some balance in your life! Your determination and sheer will to
accomplish the task before you is very admirable but it is taking a large toll on you. (Often when we overwork, we do not realize the physical and emotional toll it takes on us.) Ask for help from others. Delegate responsibility to those who can do a good job. (Or perhaps just an acceptable job as we all have different perceptions of what a ‘good’ job is.) Reduce stress for the sake of protecting your health. Release feelings of guilt and remove unnecessary obligations from your schedule. (Also implement strategies for self care such as exercise, meditation, time in nature, being creative)
Your current challenges may feel burdensome but there is a great deal to learn from this situation. This is a time of growth that will make you stronger. Ask your angels and guides to place helpful people at your side.
Additional Messages of this Card: Trying too hard to please others. Light at the end of the tunnel. Overdeveloped sense of responsibility (We do not have to be responsible for everyone and everything. If we are, then we take the opportunity away from others to learn responsibility.) Working too many hours.”
I hope this was helpful for you. I know this message is truly relevant for me at this time in my life and I stretch to support family. It is a reminder to ask others for help as part of my life lesson in responsibility. How about you? Is Archangel Gabrielle’s message resonating with you?
I would love to hear your feedback. If you find that you are wanting help in stopping overwork and asking for help, I am offering individual intuitive counselling and angel card readings online or in person (in Calgary).
Lots of love and hugs,
Marilyn
