Have you ever stopped to contemplate what role animals and other creatures of nature have in our spiritual evolution? As we have been rapidly transforming this year, so too has the Earth and all of her creatures. We are blessed to share this planet with some amazing animals. Many walk alongside us on our journey bringing us support and messages from Spirit. I know I have always been interested in animal symbolism especially since my shamanic journey where I met my Spirit Bear who now joins us on any precarious road travel instantly making me feel calm and safe. Magpies are numerous around our place, and they always seem to know when to sit on my front porch railing and peer in at me while I am on a call with a client or working on my spiritual growth. Lately though, the most attention-grabbing visit to our home was from a skunk! Luckily, I was staying at my daughter’s that day but for several days after the distinctive scent lingered throughout our house reminding me of the visit! Whatever animal I encounter, their messages always have relevant meaning (although I do believe the skunk was more for my husband than me!) So, I was not surprised when this week the Archangel Animal Oracle Cards deck created by Diana Cooper called to me. Today’s angel messages come from the Dog and Archangel Zariel.

My Messages:

When I drew this card, I was immediately reminded of the unconditional love domesticated

ree

dogs bring into our lives. Most are consistently there for their human family and that has certainly been my experience. They warn us of intruders and eagerly welcome us home after a long day at work. I know my two “grand dogs” immediately sense who in the family is hurting or sad, anxious or frightened because they will stay close to that person making some type of physical connection – either leaning into their leg, nudging a hand for a pat, or even sitting on their feet. When this happens for me, I can instantly feel the warm glow of their love which is so calming and easy to return.

Dogs seem to be very sensitive to a stranger’s energy as well. Have you watched how a dog approaches a stranger? Some determine that some humans should be ignored. Some will tentatively approach the person, testing the waters of their response. Then there are those who immediately know that this person is “a dog person” and tail wagging will eagerly approach them. How do dogs approach you? Does it match your mood or preference?

I have come to understand that when we pay attention, all animals that cross our path have a message for us. When I look into their eyes, be it our family’s dogs or a stranger’s dog, there is a connection, and I can “hear” or just know what they have to say. Perhaps this is communication via telepathy as some suggest. What about you? What is your communication like with animals?

When I look at the message of the card “Be disciplined in your home and community life,” I am reminded of the loyalty that dogs are so well known for. Is this the message from the dog today for us? Is it a reminder to honour the close relationships and loyalties we hold; to honour the unconditional love we hold for others? Most dogs are steadfast and never stray from their course. The dog is reminding us to “stay on course.” We have come through so much this year. As we enter the final push, we are reminded to put our head down and move forward with determination and discipline. We are asked not to get sidetracked. As I look at the image on the card, the yellow aura around the dogs reminds me of our solar plexus chakra, our power centre. Is that discipline also to stand in our power as our authentic self? The yellow glow is also reminiscent of expanding our light. It is time to shine our light for others as we grow in our power.

There are two dogs in the image immediately indicating to me the meaning of number two as partnership. It is focusing us on the partnerships that we have for support, not only with our pets, but with family, community, and Spirit. The number two in angel numbers tells us to not worry and “don’t stop believing” in our goals and in ourselves. It also tells us to reach out for help when needed. The two dogs also have noticeably different features – one sharp and one rounded. Both also have the contrast of black and white in their colouring. To me, these features and colours represent the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine energy. We embody both and the orange-coloured background is perhaps pointing to the balance between these energies that we are working towards.

Archangel Zariel oversees the dog kingdom spreading love and trust as well as the importance of family life and structure. He radiates the colours of blue-violet and gold. Have you been noticing any of these colours lately? Perhaps Archangel Zariel has a message for you.

Guidebook Messages:

“About Dogs:

All canines – wolves, foxes, domestic hounds, and others – originate from Sirius where the Gold Ray of Christ is kept. They incarnate to bring this unconditional love energy to Earth and to pass this pure light to other animals and people. Dogs are mainly learning about various forms of family structure.

The spiritual purpose of domestic dogs is to be companions to humans. They have surrendered the familiarity of their own kind to support us. They are giving and receiving love while learning and teaching about discipline and loyalty.

Foxes are learning the art of adaptability, whereas dingoes and wild dogs are developing independence, resourcefulness, courage, and a sense of adventure.

All dogs are loyal to their families and selflessly protective.

Guidance:

When you receive this card you are invited to look at the structure of your family life and your friendships, including those with work colleagues. Are you loyal to each other? Do you respect each other? Do you all relate to each other for the highest good? Are you disciplined or chaotic in your lifestyle?

Your family reflects you, so are you loyal to yourself? Do you respect yourself? Do you make choices for your highest good?

You are reminded that spiritual discipline is the foundation for true happiness and joy. It is the keystone of ascension, The dog card wants you to know that when you consistently practice your spiritual techniques, you can be adaptable, courageous, and develop a sense of adventure and fun. Your entire life can expand based on the solid foundation, as self-control confers safety. You can then walk forward in joy and bliss.”

I hope this was helpful for you. For me, our faithful companion, the dog, is a reminder of the

unconditional love we can give and receive. This card is also encouragement to keep on track when tempted to veer off course.

I would love to hear your feedback about how this card’s message has resonated with you. If you find that you are wanting some assistance with caring for others and setting them free, I am offering individual intuitive counselling and angel card readings online or in person (in Calgary).

You might also consider joining our community of like-minded people sharing and supporting on their journey.

Sending love and light,

Marilyn
