An Easter Reflection

As we enter this holy Easter weekend celebrated by Christians around the world, I am going

to ask you to keep an open mind to a slightly different perspective on these three days. Spirit is asking us to not only reflect on the death and resurrection of Jesus but rather on his life. He not only came to earth “to die for us”, he also came, like all of the Ascended Masters, to show us how to live. Chrisitan teachings mark Good Friday as a day of solemn reflection on the suffering and death of Jesus as a sacrifice made for humanity’s sins. Two days later, Easter Sunday celebrates Jesus’ resurrection as a joyous triumph over death and sin. These days were the culmination of his life purpose but what about his journey through his short life? In addition to reverence and gratitude for his ultimate sacrifice, can we also reflect on what this Ascended Master came to teach us? Can we follow the example he set for us throughout his life?

Live in Love

I am far from a theological expert but what I do know from my childhood lessons from the Catholic church to more recent readings, is that Jesus embodied his two greatest teachings recorded in the Bible:

“Love the Lord your God with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no commandment gretaer than these.” (Mark 12:31)

Stories of Jesus’ day to day life illustrate his heart centred approach to life. His faith and love for God (the Father-Mother) was unshakable. He trusted completely that every person, event, challenge, and celebration, was set on his path by God for his highest good. His immense trust in God’s love and support guided him through massively intense energetic initiations preparing him for his ultimate act of surrender to God’s plan. His love and compassion for his family, community, and complete strangers were enduring and complete. Equally important, Jesus askes us to love ourselves. How we feel about ourselves is reflected in how we feel about others and vice versa. In fact, some scholars propose that the love of God, self, and others is equal because we are all connected, we are all part of God/Source. So, Jesus modelled, and even gave us instruction, to live from a place of love. But how do we do that in a world where at times we may feel the heavy weight of fear and hatred? Jesus, as did many other Ascended Masters showed us the way.

No Judgement

Spirit is reminding us that a key to freedom is releasing judgement of others as well as of ourselves. When we stay in our heart in a place of love, we do not need to make assumptions about others. When we chose to step away from judgement of others, we lovingly acknowledge that everyone has their own journey as Divine intended and that we never know their entire story. We also do not need to judge ourselves as good or bad, our actions as pass or fail. When we release judgement of ourselves, we gain the perspective of lessons learned and can love and celebrate our humanness and forward movement on our journey. On his walk through life Jesus accepted and loved everyone just as they were. From his friends to those he met in the streets he treated them equally with an open heart. We have the ability to do the same.

Forgiveness

As we advance along our path we may look back and reflect on feelings, thoughts, and actions we have had that did not align with our truth. I am sure we have all also encountered people who may have created a negative experience for us. In both cases, with ourselves and others, we can choose to forgive. We can choose a loving approach to ourselves and forgive pieces of our past, choosing to see the lessons learned instead. Staying in a place of love, we can choose to forgive others, knowing that they have been placed in our path as part of the plan for us to learn the lessons we have come to learn. Jesus demonstrated this with Judas knowing that this disciple’s role was part of the Divine plan for Jesus to complete his purpose.

Healing Through Love

Just as Jesus healed many through his love for his fellow man, we too can offer healing to

others. When we offer a safe space for others to express themselves and work though problems, when we provide a loving helping hand or kind words, and when we offer healing energy for others, our loving approach helps others find healing. Perhaps there is truth in the saying “love heals all!”

Humility and Gratitude

Despite being mocked as a false king, Jesus never placed himself above anyone. He spoke of everyone being part of the one with God, equal in the light. He was humble and grateful for even the smallest blessings in his life such as a good meal and a clean bed to sleep in. He was grateful for the teachers in his life. The more we live from a loving heart, the more we can see all of the things in our life we can be grateful for and that high vibration brings in even more for us to be grateful for!

Speak Your Truth

Throughout his life Jesus never denied who he was or his purpose. He spoke his truth and trusted his words and actions would have the impact they were meant to have. As we become more aligned with our purpose, we can follow his lead trusting that we are safe is expressing who we are. Spirit is saying, believe in yourself, “know your magnificence and always speak your truth fearlessly.”

Trust

As we have talked about many times before, part of our journey is trusting that God/Source has a Divine plan for us executed in exactly the perfect timing for our highest good. Jesus had the ultimate trust in the plan God had for him. He led his life in full alignment with that plan, accepting hurdles as he went. We too are given many opportunities to fine tune that trust. The more we live from our heart, the more we can trust that we are loved and supported as a child of the Divine.

Walk In His Sandals

So, as you walk through this Easter weekend, Spirit is encouraging you to reflect on the life of

the Ascended Master Jesus and all he has to teach us versus just the time of his death. See the light within you as connected to him and all of the Ascended Masters available to help you on your journey. And remember that as you journey forward, it is OK if you stumble and even fall, just as Jesus did on his final journey to the crucifixion. Your Angels, Guides, Jesus, and the rest of your spiritual team are walking with you waiting to help you to your feet just as Jesus had help. They are reminding us that “no cross is too heavy to bear when we have the loving help of others.” So, I hope this Easter holiday will find you opening your heart to live a love led life just as the Master that this weekend celebrates did.

Love and blessings for a Happy Easter.
