Angel Messages - A Change In The Wind

Our Angel Messages card today comes from a deck that I purchased quite a while ago but

was not called to use it until I took a short workshop from its creator this week. The deck is the Wisdom of the Oracle deck by Colette Baron-Reid. As I found this week, Spirit can be very persistent and consistent in the messages they want to bring to us. So, after a vigorous shuffle when I pulled the card for today, I couldn't believe it! I have been given the same card no less than three times over the last two days. As we often say when working with Spirit, “You just can't make this stuff up!” This message is obviously again for me but because it has come forward for this blog, it is also for all of you. Given the continually chaotic state of our world right now and the rapid progress a lot of us are feeling in our transformation, it is no wonder that this card has come forward. The card is #12 A Change in the Wind.

My Messages

Our Life in Retrograde

As mentioned in last week's blog “Surrender”, we are currently experiencing several planets in retrograde. Our card appears to be telling us that this retrograde time of reflect, reassess, and realign is preparing us for a change that is in the wind.

Pluto's retrograde began in May and will continue through until mid-October. During this time, we will be connecting more and more with the subconscious as we travel through our transformational journey. We will be looking at our relationships from a broader perspective in terms of power dynamics within our social circles and our community. As part of the collective, we may begin to question our current systems’ structure and whether they still serve us. We may begin to feel uncomfortable with the old systems and feel a yearning for change. How are your social circles changing? Are you finding a new community of like-minded people?

Neptune's retrograde began on July 4th and will continue until mid-December. This planet encourages us to re examine our dreams and ensure they align with our sense of self and our emerging identity. Are you re examining your goals in life? Are you searching for more answers about your life's purpose? Is your sense of who you truly are changing? 

Saturn's retrograde which began on July 13th and will continue until November 28th has it has us examining our accountability and responsibilities. It is a time to look at past and present commitments and determine whether they still align with serving our purpose. It is also a time to set healthier boundaries and relook at our approach to our long-term goals. Are you recognizing responsibilities that you have taken on that are not really yours? Are you able to release them to allow others the space for them to learn their life lessons on their journey? Are you looking more closely at your life and what your needs are over others and creating healthy boundaries so that you can address them?

Mercury is in retrograde for a shorter period - July 18th to August 11th. In addition to this time being commonly known for technological challenges as well as challenges in communication, it is also a time to reflect on past decisions, old relationships, and revisit unfinished business. Are you wrapping up projects, relationships, and perhaps even a stage in your life so that you can move forward?

All of these planets are creating a time and space for us to connect with who we truly are both within and externally in the context of our physical world. Many of us may feel that challenges are coming at us from all different directions questioning our deeper values, our relationships, our current path, and even our self identity. However, this time of reflection can offer valuable lessons and a renewed perspective for future decisions and direction aligned with our purpose. With all of this occurring this card is affirming that there is definitely a change in the wind for us.

Change, Change, Change

The first part of the image on this card that stands out for me is of course the zebra who is

standing firm and stable in the face of the wind. A zebra’s stripes never change just as who we truly are has always been within us even though at times we may struggle to connect with that identity. So, the zebra is reassuring us that who we truly are is the firm foundation we have to weather any change. The zebra’s stripes also remind me of the duality of our world - the white and black, Yin and Yang, the masculine and feminine. I believe it is showing us that some of the change that is coming will help us to balance that Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine that is within us all.

If one looks closely, there appears to be a face in the saddle. Perhaps this symbolizes the self identity that we show externally which is currently in transformation. Perched on top of the saddle is a howdah-like structure and there appears to be a fairy riding in it. Is this showing us that the magic within us is rising above our identity that is currently facing the world? The fairy is boldly facing the wind just as our magic can boldly face change. Perched on the very top of the howdah is the moon, which to me represents our Spiritual gifts. Perhaps the change in the wind will bring forward more of our gifts.

The final element in the image is the wind itself. The wind is an air element which in some

tarot represents our thoughts and beliefs. As we go through this time of deep reflection Spirit is telling us that we are supported in changing deeply held thoughts and beliefs. Some say that because you cannot control the wind then perhaps you cannot control your thoughts, the ego. The issue is not to battle or control but rather to release to the wind those thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve us. The ego will always be with us. Its role has always been to protect us but that is something we no longer need. So instead of fighting to erase or control the ego, we can simply ask it to step aside and release it. In doing so, we make space for the new and beautiful positive thoughts and beliefs that align more closely with our soul. The energy of the card itself seems to be saying that we have the firm foundation within to face the wind of change and allow it to bring in the new to replace what no longer serves us as it blows away. Change is inevitable especially in a year of transformation. It provides us the exciting opportunity to grow.

Support in the Numbers

This is card #12. Number one refers to new beginnings brought in as we go with the flow of the winds of change. It also speaks to us of leadership. We are the sovereign leaders of our own life as we change and transform. Number two speaks to us of partnership with others and also with Spirit as we open up to the changes that are coming. In Angel numbers it also reminds us to not stop believing in our purpose, in the support Spirit has for us, and most importantly in ourselves. Together, one and two add up to three. This is the number of communication and creativity supporting us in our authentic communication to others about our true selves. We will no longer be hiding behind who others expect us to be but rather we will be more comfortable in showing the world who we remember we truly are. It also supports us in the co-creation of our reality with Spirit. So, the change in the wind will be providing us with an opportunity to move forward and create the reality that aligns with the true selves that we are discovering and reconnecting with.

Guidebook Messages

“Essential meanings: A sense that unseen change has initiated; preparation for a storm; awareness that your plans are not on firm ground; feeling a shift; uncertainty about which direction the winds will blow.

The Oracle's message: It's human nature to yearn for certainty and resist change - to want the world to remain consistent like a zebra’s stripes. Yet nothing in human experience is black and white, nor will anything remain static. The one thing guaranteed is change. Now is a time of transformation as outer conditions are temporarily moving out of sync with your desires and expectations. Stay the course and remember that even storms serve to clear the air, scatter seeds, end nourish the soil for better things ahead. Life is about to get interesting. Anticipate it with curiosity as you wonder what is coming in on the shifting winds. The unknown is where the magic lies.

Relationship message: Relationships go through periods where partners seem out of sync with each other, and stormy emotions and moods threatened to take down the ship. Perhaps someone has a change of heart and leaves. These rough seas offer opportunity for mutual growth, a way for you to understand your own heart better and to know what you need to be truly happy. Rest assured that whatever is happening now, good welcome from it. Take temporary shelter and remove yourself from drama. The air is clear, and everything will be fresh and new again. This, too, shall pass.

Prosperity message: As you endeavor to create a prosperous life, you may encounter unexpected reversals that caused you to shift directions. This is a good thing, so there is nothing to fear. Perhaps an opportunity you sought went to someone else. Perhaps you've pursued something that you suddenly realize is not in your highest good. You might not be 100 percent clear on where you need to go, but you are certain that things are not going as planned. Circumstances are not in your control right now. Wait it out. All will be well - even better, actually. Trust.”

Yesterday, July 24th, also brought us a new moon in Leo Providing the energetic support for us to shine. With all the changes coming this new moon supports us in believing in ourselves and taking a creative approach to those changes to manifest our best lives.
